It guesses what character you thinking of, by asking questions, I was thinking Tali and it got it right.

It was uncanny how it zero'd in on a character, but I beat it with 'Deb' Chen (ER).  It kept pulling up Sandra Oh.

Well, Shepard will find out some Reaper weakness or we are all screwed in open battle. :)

A long time ago, there was a SciFi series on a type of large ships called "Berserkers".  Their goal, oddly enough, was the destruction of all life in the galaxy, except for their creators - and the creators had long since died off.  But the Berserkers continued.

The Berserkers were pure AIs, and each had three brains - and two had to agree on any action.

The Berserkers were defeated, in one version, by an AI who invaded the Berserker, and then turned the ship on the other Berserkers.

Suppose the Quarians, Legion and the Geth, and EDI were able to introduce an AI virus into the Reaper fleet.  Some Reapers freeze and do nothing, others attack their former allies.

That would be elegant, would it not?

Game purposes: Shepard, Tali, and Legion have to fight their way into the core of a Reaper to introduce the virus.

Hey now, that series of book was NOT so long ago!
Actually when I first encounted the ME universe I first thought of a revamped Berserker.  Basic concept is the same, a machine killing all life in the galaxy but the twist that ME put on it was nice.  Instead of killing everything they just killed the advanced races.  Guess they didn't need any goodlife aboard their ships having husks already.

But it wouldn't be that easy, Reaper isn't simple AI, it's a milions of entities thinking as one and who knows on what principle it's working.

Fred Saberhagen? (spelling sucks)  Outstanding series of real scifi.  On par with Asimov and Clarke in my 'book'

Maybe...but there's an underlying problem.  Those entities are a lot like parallel processing.  The weakness of such systems is communications.

First issue is the speed of communications.  It takes awhile to send out all those control messages.

Second issue...a big one...is also known as a "man in the middle" attack.  If someone can intercept the message from the control unit, then change it and retransmit it, one can commit much mischief.

Now an AI...just a little one that reproduces quickly and seems benign...could burrow into the system and cause the Reaper elements to attack each other.  Think of cancer, in an AI sense.

Aight folks. Be back later. Art show to go to, and writing to do. Typing of, here's a preview.
---------------
Garrus just shook his head and accessed his communicator. "All clear. Had a small pocket of mechs, but nothing we couldn't handle. On our way back to you Tali."

"Understood," came Tali's reply. "Shepard's team just got here too."

The turian groaned as the biotic walked up. "Think he'll be mad?" She asked him as they started walking back.

"Probably not. You never know though," he added after a moment. "He's never had a girl to worry about before."

Jack looked at him in surprise. "Really? Figured someone like him would be fighting them off with a stick."

"Oh, women have always been interested in him," Garrus said with a shrug. "Shepard never paid it any attention though."

"Why her?" She asked.

"I'm not really sure," Garrus replied after a moment. "Guess he decided that there was more to life than the next mission. Besides," he said, sounding thoughtful, "I think it always would have been Tali anyway. Even on the original Normandy he was closer to her than anyone else. Even closer than Ash."

The biotic glanced at Garrus. "Who's Ash?"
---------------
See y'all later!

Well, considering the fact that the nutrient paste that makes up their diet is based on plant matter and the liveships grow plants for food, wouldn't that put them solidly in the place of omnivore?

Only by necessity - raising animals for food is incredibly resource intensive.  (And the codex does say they love meat paste when they can get it.)

Saberhagen? Isn't that a german bratwurst?

Seriously, I'll take note on that name and try to find time to buy and read 'em. B)

Did you mean herbivore and not omnivore?  Sorry for my confusion.

bah. Only helmets worth it are the sniper visor, and the ones from the DR. Pepper promo.

I don't know. That new armor DLC has a helmet which is pretty badass.

Increases head shot damage by 5%
Increases weapon damage by 3%
Increases shields by 3%

And that's just the helmet.

AND you can actually DRINK while you're wearing it!
