Well, seeing as I dislike the Liara romance intensely, I think it a little differently.  Personally, I absolutely loved the Ashley romance.  However, a Paragon would likely not cheat.  Especially with the email sent by Ashley - it leaves it too open regarding bother her feelings and the possibility of a relationship.  Hence why I have two playthroughs, one with Ash and the other with Tali.

If I could actually play renegade (and not just to see how it plays out), I could see it.  But not as a Paragon.

All I can say is...Moronic Paragon.

I don't care if it's not Paragon's style for being so impulsive, or whatever you want to call it.

And as said, this thing about Shepard waiting for Tali/the right one for all these years is very cliché.

There are many people that can go from person to person until they find the right one for them, and that's what I to see.

My Shepard did the same.  He's bounced between people before.  Tali is damn special to him, though.  And the way he interprets his meeting with Ash, the two are pretty much over with.  He still wants to get her back as a friend, though.

I can't beleive I'm asking this question but it popped in my head and damn it I will ask it for possible epic lulz.

I was watching that eclipse burger king commercial and a thought popped in my head:

If it were officially announced by the Mass Effect executive producer that Tali is team edward or team jacob how would the talination respond?

To carry it further, I don't see a true Paragon violating the fraternization regs and getting it on with a subordinate.  So I romanced Liara by default (and later replayed without romancing anyone so I wasn't 'cheating' with Tali...).

 It's finally done and finished!

A cold day on Noveria, chapter six!

***

”I just love the look on their faces when you pry their masks off, they ju-,” a fist closed her mouth. Then his left fist connected with her abdomen, even with all the armor between she was knocked out of all the air she had inhaled. Shepard grabbed the armored collar with his both hands and lifted her in the air.
”You sick f*ck!” He spat in rage.
”Let go of me!” She screamed, her voice laced with an underlying panic as she had been caught by surprise, along with everyone else. Stirling started to glow blue, charging her biotic abilities.
”No way in hell, you b*tch!” Shepard snarled and proceeded to throw her down to the ground. He twisted just slightly his body, putting enough of forward momentum into her body to slam her forcefully head first to the hard concrete floor.
”No!” She screamed, her one last attempt of defiance before the back of her head met the floor with a wet smack. The force immediately fracturing her skull and the sickening sound of it was like a signal, as the room bursted into a firefight.

***

Go and read it! Then rip it to shreds! *Rraaaahh!*

That's the thing though; it wasn't years.  It was only a couple of months after ME 1 that Shepard got spaced.  For him, very little time has gone by.  So to go from (if Ash is the LI) a pretty serious romance that they got into knowing it could get them kicked out of the Alliance, to jumping into bed with Tali, is not something I can justify.  If he really wanted Tali, and felt as strongly as is implied in the romancing, why in the hell was he with a LI in ME 1?  There is NO justification for this, or what he says, if he is treating the romance with Tali as seriously as it implies he is.  Otehrwise, it paints Shepard in a horrible light.

No.  Just no.  Only a Rengade douchebag who only cares about what he wants would go down that path.  Just no. NOnonononono.

Waiting for Tali is hardly my Shep's reason if that's what you're referring to.  There's a difference between going from person to person before you find the right one, and deceiving a friend that you have no romantic feelings for just to have a quick fling.  While Shep's background is never detailed, I'm sure there have been women in his past, at least for mine there has been.  The two options given on the first Normandy just don't fall in that category for me.

If you care for someone else above the person you're romancing, that's a scumbag move, and its unfair to that person.  If you're doing it for a sociopathic pleasure ("won't it be fun to see Ashley cry,") that's either metagaming ("I would never do that in real life,") or messed up, the way I see it.  I always cared about Tali the most personally, and always will

honestly... the plotline of ME can't have been that long so its not like the relationship was even a year long, so anyone who is still so massivly into a person they banged once, (ok maybe more in the time between ME and the beginning of ME2) and who has been dead as far as they know for two whole years has something wrong with their head if you ask me.

i would murder everyone in my general vicinity and then commit suicide because those commercials ****** me off enough being centered around characters i already thought were horrible and worth no praise. seriously i can't see how burger king can consistantly think its a good idea to have commercials all the time where they're purposefully harassing their customers (like these and the ones where they gave them wendys or something and said the whopper was discontinued.)

During the second to last chat with Ashley in the first game, Shepard mentions it's been a few months.

Also, I think you're underestimating the sheer power of Upper Left Blue. Chicks dig Upper Left Blue.

Relays are instantaneous, FTL drives are not. Exact speed not known but it days take time to travel in the nebulas.

Its plausible that the relationship could have been going on for around 3 months.  The plot line is at least a few months long, and then there is around a month before the collectors attack.  Theoretically, there could be a strong bond formed in that time.

My complaint is that Bioware completely failed to convey these serious feelings at all.  Unless you add your own spin, and add events into the background, you just had three conversations and one night together, and all of a sudden you're soul mates to the point that the LI doesn't move on after you die.

Jumping through Mass Relays is damn near instantaneous. Taking FTL from one system to another takes days or maybe a week (another detail that gets mentioned in Ashley's conversation, the one about her sister). Between missions and exploring uncharted worlds, it adds up quick, especially if that Shepard got the Geth Data, avenged Admiral Kohoku, and helped out Garrus and Wrex.

Just because Shepard is Paragon doesn't mean he's perfect and knows exactly want he wants before the opportunity even shows up and won't make any mistakes whatsoever in a relationship with a woman.

Because he has made some questionable decisions as Paragon. And not only once.

yeah yeah i know that, but i'd like a specific number for non relay travel like 100c (which would even then make travel between stars take a week or so which cuts down on thane's usefullnes as his life expectancy is measured in months by his own words.
