I would argue that since the Quarians lived in a space environment, even with their seemingly "artificial gravity", it seems to me, their race has atrophied from the lack of a real planet to live on.

honestly, even in the last couple hundred years human immune systems are nothing like they used to be with all the sanitation of things and purification of foods, if you went back in time you'd have to be careful what you ate so you didn't get sick from all the nasty crap in it.

Like real astronauts today. Not sure about the immune system bit though, but the first two for sure. I suspect being in space for an extended period of time, will do this. Tech or no tech.

Good one Rip. Now this is going to be in my head everytime I watch the Tali romance scene. ;)

It doesnt help either that Quarian females have the stamina and ferocity to engage in this for 38+ hours.

Generations? They haven't been there more than 3 centurys. It is a long time, but it would be max. 4 generations thus far.
And I don't believe they would "de-evolve" so fast.

But Shepard get's shore leave. And Shepard's ancestors werent born in space, lived in space, and died in space.

Its not de-evolving. Astronauts get this within months of entering space. By the time they get to Earth, their bodies are so weak that they need to be carried out of the space shuttles because their legs arent strong enough to carry them anymore.

I realized that the Pistol is only good for using the cryo-ammo if you are a soldier. For some reason, the Pistol has the highest chance of freezing something bullet by bullet.

And I dont think it's game limitations. The Visor of a Quarian is harder than the exoskeleton of Sovereign. They shall use this technology on their ships of war.  Imagine, a fleet of giant Tali helmets doing battle with the Reapers.

That is...stupid on so many levels that I'm not even going to bother.

Where do we find out that the Quarians were homeworldless for 300+ years?

The flotilla seems to have gravity... Space missions do not..

Its ok if you dont understand the words of a Visionary.  I will be content with my Fleet of Taliheads destroying the Reapers. =]

Haven't looked into it, but a wild guess. They haven't used their muscles in legs, so the muscles wither away.

As I mentioned before in a previous post, I still think this unprecedented amount of time spent in space does take its toll on the Quarian people.

The suit explanation for Grunt's line is that all Grunt knows is war data implanted into his head from Okeer.  *snip*

The skin argument is pretty much the last thing I would expect Grunt to be talking about personally, its pretty irrelevant unless it would offer significant resistance, and that just seems very unlikely to me.

Yes. But how old Okeer was exactly? Or those images he taught Grunt with. Those could easily pre-date the morning war.

And I wasn't saying anything about the skin, but the biology, either bone structure or muscles are more densier than any other races have. And it would make sense.
The suit, no. Again, why wouldn't someone in a combat armor be stronger. Bar fight? Bouncers could easily wear full-body "bullet/knife"proof outfits. The envirosuit? Just bash your fist into the visor and it should be more or less over with it. The suit can't have that much of armor and it couldn't be so strong on itself when it needs to be flexible and, snug.

I did specifically say that if you don't like the suit explanation, the bone/muscle density argument was more likely.  There are possible counters to the suit idea, but nothing concrete.  Grunt has the memories of warlords past as well.  Maybe quarians didn't wear suits around the galaxy pre morning wars, but we don't know that for sure.  Maybe quarians have always worn suits in any situation where they were likely to be encountered.

Defending the whole bar fight analogy though, I was just picking something out of the air to compare a human and a quarian in every day clothes.  If we assume he's fighting an armored human in an every day scenario, that analogy falls apart.  What would be the point of comparing species if he gave them the same armor anyway?

As far as suit/combat armor, I would expect the suit to be stronger against a knife actually.  Kinetic barriers don't do anything to stop a knife, and the focus of combat armor wouldn't be to stop a knife at all, while a quarian suit needs to be extra resistant to tearing for obvious reasons.  They would likely have a completely higher level of focus on preventing a knife from stabbing through then other species' armor.

As far as punching the visor, sure, that may work, but that's not what the conversation was about, that's completely unrelated.  Nothing says that a tear/knife resistant material couldn't be extremely lightweight and flexible either.

Its not just their leg muscles that gets affected. Their entire body withers away. Bones and all. Gravity is a fickle thing.

of course, even now astronauts realize that the long amounts of time they spend on the space station and thus in free fall (zero gravity) wrecks their muscles. thats why they have equipment to keep them functionable over those times like (as a stephen fan i must point out) the COLBERT treadmill, and a bowflex would be great since it works off the flexability of rods rathar than the resistance of gravity on weights to build strength.

Because of a fan video of a modded Dragon Age, I will always imagine a hairy bearded man wearing a loincloth crouched over a flame pointing and stareing everytime someone uses the word "taint".

Yup, just looked up. So if the gravity on space ships/station wouldn't cut out for it, then why people living on Citadel doesn't have same problems?
It's the lack of gravity that f*cks things up.
