To pull a Godwin, TIM is entirely too much like Hitler for my liking. It is
Ethnocentrism, applied to humanity as a species against the rest. I can not properly indicate how big of a problem I have with this PoV. But anyway, let's look at known Cerberus actions:
1.) Attempt to replicate/control Creeper Husks.
Failed/stopped by Shepard.
2.) Attempts to control the Rachni.
Failed.
3.) Attempt 1 to make a better biotic human (Subject Zero). Partial Success, but process not repeatable.
Unusable4.) Attempt 2 to make a better biotic human (Novel: Ascension). Project was promising, but process not repeatable and results in open hostilities between Cerberus/quarians.
Failure.
5.) Study usability/counter-measures for Thresher Maws. Information on exactly what is revealed is unknown.
Resulted in Cerberus terminating an Alliance Admiral to prevent exposure.6.) Implantation of Reaper Tech directly into human to study possibilities of adapting Indoctrination. Test subject selected to punish said subject, not for viability. Unknown results at this time.
7.) Attempt to merge an AI with a human to provide a bridge and means of control over the geth.
Failed - merger with only viable test subject is unreliable
at best. Also unlikely to be able to reproduce experiment.
8.) Recreation of the
Normandy, adding an AI to it as well as making theoretical improvements to it.
Partial Success. Project repeatable, but costly. However, AI not controllable depending on circumstances.
9.) Attempts to study Inactive Reaper for understanding of tech, location of IFF. Partial success; IFF located, but entire team was lost to indoctrination. Reaper lost.
10.) Project Lazarus. Success, but not repeatable/subject unpredictable.
This is what I could remember off of the top of my head. The only two of these projects that had anything resembling success were the new
Normandy and Project Lazarus. And dozens of people died during the Lazarus project, not to mention the hundreds lost/sacrificed to the other known projects.
And we are supposed to be sympathetic to this group?
7.)
