The shape is not-quite-human, nor are the fine lines on the cheeks. At any rate, the rest of her body is quite alien enough for my xenophilia to be satisfied.Ehunkel wrote...
You know the only problem I have with this image is that is the face is too "humanish". It's cute and all, but when you compare this to the other Mass Effect race, it's quite...unoriginal.
And yes, you can say that Asaris look a lot like humans too, but they do have some traits that definitly make them alien (tentacle head anyone?). This taliface does not give me that impression.

Same here.
Wouldn't hurt if she had some humanoid traits.

But anyway:

Asari concepts but it's nice to imagine she's hidden in there somewhere.

To be fair, I used to fall into the "non-human face" camp (and I would probably take whatever I'm served), but after careful consideration, I don't think the face is needed to prove she's an alien.Someone With Mass wrote...

Is the third one from the left at the top supposed to be a male or something?

Asaries have some "tentacles" on back of their heads and blue (purple) skin but same body shape as Humans.
Quarians can have similiar faces to Humans but have different body shape.

Here's why I remain suspicious of this pic: that one in the middle of the bottom row appears to be what they've based the current batarians on (as some may recall, batarians looked different in ME1 until we actually saw them in Bringing Down the Sky).Calinstel wrote...
Bottom row, 3rd from either end is fine
top row 3rd from right.
LJ is also a vocal proponent of top-row-3rd-from-right. I'll agree that the profile, especially w/ regards to the nose, seems to fit.
I'd be okay w/ 2nd row 2nd from the right.
(And that one that's smoking is like sex on a plate, but doesn't match up to any current parameter.)

Since these are supposed to be asari concepts, no.Someone With Mass wrote...

Then again, if they're asari concepts, none of them are technically female, either.

Yeah. Good luck finding a human woman with that kind of curves.
Especially those at her shins. Or that back.

Okay, the one on the bottom middle reminds me of a Klingon.. Head ridges and all. They neck stripping, like the bands on Tali's neck armor. But no where do I see batarian in that.NuclearBuddha wrote...

Except that I'm pretty sure the guy who did it designed from the ground up. He used to post a little back in 1.0 or 2.0.Tairis Deamhan wrote...
I think my biggest issue with the other one is that between the skin tone and the blue eyes, it just really looks too much like a modified pic of a human girl stuck in a helmet, rather than something designed from the ground up that also looks humanish.

Yeah, my thought exactly, you just managed to word them for me.
And while her body sure make her alien (AND perfect) having an alien face (which has humanoid traits, like the nose) would only reinforce this impression.
But personally... I'll wait until BW gives aways her true face. And I know I'll like it, whatever it may look like:wub:

Dunno, as has been said just personal impression anyways. Just feels too human modified to look alien than alien that looks mre human.
Of course if BW doesn't do the reveal in ME3 then we'll be forever speculating.
