By the time I played ME1, I already knew Tali wasn't an option, so I made a conscious decision not to get all excited over her. Even though she was more interesting than the actual LI's. Damn space gypsy.
Oh, no, you didn't!

Just give her The Road Not Taken. She'll get it.NCLanceman wrote...
Ooooh. Somehow I think I'm gonna have to write a better one for Ash.NuclearBuddha wrote...
Same here. I'm gonna face the music and see how it goes. I wrote Liara a poem to soften the blow.
Ahem.
Roses are red,
Asari are blue,
I'm sleeping with a quarian,
And it's over between us.

Sometimes it's nice with some love triangle drama.
And I did the same thing, because it was like the same week ME1 was released and I didn't have a clue that Tali would be a romance in the next game. And mostly because that I didn't feel for her the same way as I do now. Back then, she was very nice, but I couldn't see her as a romance in the future. She just didn't seem like that kind of person.

The human squadmates in ME1 were fairly boring. Wrex, Garrus, Liara, and Tali stole the show. The only exciting thing that happened with the human squad mates was that 1 was guaranteed to die.

In my first (spontaneous) playthrough I romanced Liara... I'll see how it ends.

Eh I still stand by my statement that the human squad mates from ME1 are boring. I talk to them just to move the plot along and skip through most of their text.Calinstel wrote...
Sorry, let me clarify. Never spoke to him when I was running a femshep. Maleshep did talk to him, the first run through.

Liara was quite good in ME1 but when I saw Tali on Freedom's Progress... Liara no longer existed for me.Someone With Mass wrote...

That's the truth. Most of the humans didn't strike me as interesting or someone with a pretty uncommon and/or funny personality. And some didn't even try to make it exciting, so why should I?

Agree. She doesn't come off as half-baked.Someone With Mass wrote...
Not that I'm complaining. I think the time between ME1 and 2 added more to her character than it would have if she was a LI in ME1.NuclearBuddha wrote...

Storywise I liked Anderson enough. Even though I hated Udina with a passion, he at least gave me a reason to hate him. The two reporters also added some depth to the story too. And of course Hackett's disembodied voice was always cool.Someone With Mass wrote...

Even Wrex and Garrus actually developed over the 2 years Shepard was dead. It was only Kaidan/Ashley that never seemed to move on. Liara went in a completely out-of-character direction. Kinda wish i didn't have her as my original LI.Someone With Mass wrote...
