I think you've doomed Miranda by putting this in the Tali thread. There has been a whole lot of Tali-hate by some Miranda fans. (And vice-versa to be fair.)

Why didn't you just put it in the Jack and Miranda threads and let them duke it out?

That does bring up an interesting question:  Why do Tali fans seem to prefer Jack over Miranda?

Is it just the Cerberus thing or what?

Do Talimancers just have a thing for outcasts?

I think there is a genuine love of the underdog among Talifans.

Though I still suspect a lot of it is simply a vote "against" Miranda (or her fans) and not so much a vote "for" Jack.

Because Miranda is a Cerberus ****, who lies through her teeth with you, smiles when the Illusive Man beckons, and lacks anything that resembles morals. She doesn't mind torture, picking fights with people, notably Jack, who is ****ed up beyond repair, and is therefore little more than a bully. ****.

Jack is a ****ed up individual and mass murderer, who has suffered every atrocity imaginable, and is looking for some level of peace and normalcy. Like Tali, she also wears a mask, only hers is worn over the heart. The appeal isn't hard to figure out.

Stupid question... saw a post on another forum about Tali having an adorable chicken pox line. Does she ever talk about chicken pox? I certainly don't remember it.

Well, the romance does continue.  Just
not in a very pleasant way.

That makes me feel so much better about the continued romances in ME3 lol I know I know game mechanics forced Ashleykaiden away and something entirely otherworldly forced Liara away, but this isn't a dating sim, I can't think 9 LIs will get quality writing and an ending. Rannoch? Yeah, alluded to maybe.

Phil725 wrote...

That worries me a little as well, but at the same time, Bioware knows the opportunity they have here.  I see ME3 pretty much being the point where Bioware either continues their awesome streak of games, or goes completely over to the darkside of selling their souls and pandering to the masses.  And I expect the former.

The unimportant decisions from ME2 will likely be handled in a similar way as they were from ME1>ME2.  Ignored completely, or something insignificant like an email.  For maleShep, who cares how many times you actually talked to Thane, or how you treated him, I expect to start out on the same foot in ME3.  The only difference I expect is a different dialogue branch for the existing LI.  Even that likely wouldn't factor in more than 'romanced? Yes/No.'

Again, this doesn't mean bad though, just that the limitations are able to be worked around.

We'll learn more as time progresses, I guess. We as completionists will get "something", but you can only hope the difference isn't as petty as the difference from ME1-ME2.

Bioware turning more mainstream isn't comforting, either.

Wow Phil, you're like the only person I've ever had discussions with on here. This place is like a gd chat room I swear....for uhh..me at least.

Must have took some doing.

Takes a special kind of resolve to look in the mirror and decide that what you see is something worth changing.

That's kind of what I was getting at.

Possibly, but most what I've seen from people has been positive toward Jack, aside from the fact that she's not going to be anything but 2nd best around here.

I wonder how a Jack/Liara matchup would fare with Talimancers, though.

I'd say Ashley, but that's just a step up from Miranda probably.

Yeah.  Asking her about her immune system leads to her talking about Pressly having chicken pox.  It's pretty HNNNNNNGGGGGGG-inducing.

Its an investigate option when you're talking about getting sick from being together.  She mentions that she wouldn't get human diseases like chicken pox.  She just happens to say it in the most adorable way possible

Yea. If you use the investigate options in the conversations where she has a fever.

How'd that go?  The only time I've smoked was when I wrecked a chick's car on my graduation night.  It seemed like a good time for a cigarette.

Periodic shifts in mood, restraint, endurance. I will not continue as some coagulation of gloom and depression, screw that. I have better things to do.

Sorta this lol

And I'm a sympathetic person...I fall in love with the most tragic beings. Maybe cuz we're all tragic, and pretending otherwise is just arrogance.
And Jack has a potty mouth...just like Tali

It'd be a lot less obtuse than Jack/Miranda, but I think Jack would still win. If another poll I did a while back is any indication.

How the hell did I miss this? Is it during the romance dialogue or is it in the "totally worth it" dialogue?

Like someone else said, Tali and Jack have some things in common. Underestimated. Armored. Mistreated. Still willing to open up and be genuine when the world has given them no real reason to do so.

A lot of the traits that draw many of us to Tali are also in Jack to an extent. At least more so than the other LI choices for Maleshep.

But while there is a lot of positive comments for Jack, I suspect many are happy to stick it to the Mirandamancers. (Or maybe people are doing it for both reasons.)

I went to a liquor store to buy a can of carbonated testosterone Monster, and decided to buy a pack of cigarettes. It was pretty uneventful, really. A total letdown.

After I finished the pack I nearly bought another, then I realized what I was doing and chewed myself out.

Here is my application to be apart of this thread/group.

Opinion on Tali'Zorah vas Normandy vas Neema nar Rayya: I say yes to Tali.

My choice in ME2: My Shepard romanced her.

Additional notes: I've even come up with some ideas for my first actual fanfic that I'll finish (and enjoy writing), regarding (not exactly Tali directly) but the Quarians and the Geth. Titled "Mass Effect: The Morning War".

So... am I allowed in? :P

Oh, you did a Jack/Liara matchup already?  Link?

Ashley/Jack or Miranda/Ashley/Jack.

I think part of the reason people don't like Miranda carries over into why they don't like Ashley.

Tali > Jack > Liara =/= Ashley > Miranda

To me, at least.
