Heyoo! How's it going everybody?

I'd want to be in Hell right now, because it's probably cooler down there than up here.

But I guess Tali is doing pretty good.

Is it humid?
And I hope Tali is doing great.

If you're asking if it feels like I'm going to suffocate everytime I'm trying to breath, then yes.

And Tali needs a new suit from the second AA Pack.

Humidity is the worst.
I wonder what her AA pack outfit would look like? I hope it isn't just the same suit with changed colors.

LESS suit is my thinking on the subject :)  Actually I really like her default one.  To me it's very pretty and feminine

Or that they added some stupid thing (Like Thane getting shades. Dark red shades.) just because they thought it looks cool.

I can understand if they want t take their time with it and make it as good as possible, but it has been quite a while since the first pack.

Unless they've planed to release it at the same time one of those gap filling DLCs comes out. I'm okay with that.

I'm not Jack's biggest fan, but getting tortured, isolated, and pumped with narcotics at a young age to condition you into a weapon and then repeatedly abused, raped, and damaged throughout the brief period of your life goes abit beyond 'got dealt a crappy hand'.

True but  guess  what? You still got to deal with it.  Life is still going to move on, the sun its going to raise and set.
No matter how many people she kills, how many times she blows the place up, no matter how many times she screams at Miranda its still not going to change the past...  What is done,  is done.     Nothing, I mean nothing is going to change it.    :(

Yea, her ME2 redesign was impressively well done.

Or maybe they pulled their heads out of their arses and realized that they put out carp and had to start from scratch with the AA packs.

BTW, I liked your latest chapter. The surgery was intense,

Just deal with it is great if you got picked on as a kid or your cat dies. Hell, even if someone close to you dies or something traumatic happens and you dwell on it.
A life of systematic abuse isn't something you can 'just deal with'. That's just like telling Tali to 'just deal with' losing Rannoch and being stuck in a suit for her entire life. How well does that turn out on the Alarei? Oh yea, it doesn't.
The kind of things done to Jack change people in ways that it takes a great deal to come back from. The fact that Shepard can help her at all is a testament to strength of will and his own powers of persuasion.

Closure.  That is what her loyalty mission was.  Simple closure, to help her move on.    And Miranda calling her a mistake was what set her off.  That would set anyone off.

In case you weren't actually paying attention to the things Jack says, she doesn't want pity. She's strong, she knows she is strong. Cerberus wanted Shepard to recruit her because she is strong. She has trust issues, yes. And a hell of a lot of anger. Considering what she has had to do to survive, and where she came from, it is understandable.

At the same time, she doesn't regret what she has become. She likes who she is. She likes the power. She simply wants to be free. To be who and what she wants, to have choices.

And, with Shepard's help, she is starting to step free from her past. She is free from her imprisonment. She is, for the first time, doing something worthwhile - a new experience for her. She has her freedom. She can be who she wants.

You have to respect that.

That seems to be Shepard's modis operandi in ME2. He gives the squad the opportunity to be their own masters. To have control of their lives. It is different with each of them, but no less profound.

Take Tali. By the end of ME2, she is her own quarian. While still selfess (one of her defining traits), she has learned that she has to live for herself, not just for the Fleet. That she matters. That is a powerful thing to learn, especially in the midst of tragedy.

I have been in shepherds shoes more times than I like.   The only  way Jack is EVER going to find  peace its to let the **** go,  only time you ever find peace from **** that life deals out to is  to let it go. Cause if you don't it will consume you.   Shepherd can't help her unless she wants to help herself... Trust me THAT is a lesson  I had to learn the hard way.       Anyways its one of the lesson you just learn as you get older   when I heard for the first i said the same thing you did.  Then I got older and well I understand a little better now..

So... you've been brainwashed, conditioned for combat euphoria, and repeated raped over the course of a decade? Or dealt with people that have been?

Sorry, but don't pull the 'older' card on me. Considering the issues I've dealt with with people have only abused a single time, it boggles my mind to consider what kind of deep seated issues someone like that would have.

Telling someone to 'move on' and 'forgive and forget' isn't a solution, its a cop out.

Edit: And as I pointed out above, this conversation is literally in the game when you talk to Tali on the Alarei. The 'paragon' option says 'maybe you should give up on Rannoch, it happened a long time ago and the quarians need to move on'.
What happens? Tali flips out.

I think she flips out on any of the alternatives. The only different thing is how much a douche Shepard sounds like in that occasion.

No, actually if you go the 'renegade' conversation path she's fairly calm, you're essentially telling her what she wants to hear. Which is why its renegade.

There is nothing wrong with someone learning to move on past a tragedy. But just expecting them to get over it? Doesn't work that way. People need time to adapt, learn that their worldview has been warped by what happened to them. The longer the abuse, the harder that is.

Sometimes it's impossible. Those are the ones that you lose. Either they go far off the deep end that they never crawl out of the system, get killed when they snap, or take their own lives because they just can't function anymore.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could have conversations with the crew that don't lead to a romance.  Or, if you could talk to them about the other crew members?

Hope they do that for at least one conversation in the game. Have most of them be in the characters usual spots, but let them have that more 'significant' conversation that usually shows up towards the end of the character plot trees in private. Think it would add weight.

Yes, it would be nice for BW to fork over some more in the VA department. I mean it. No pun or sarcasm here.

Well, they have improved the dialogues since ME1 where the love story progression wasn't subtle at all. At least a little.

As for crew members interacting with each other or talking about them, I'm all for it.
