Nothing simple about it, but hey if you could have kids with a winged elf in BG2 I really fail to see the difference, and yes I acknowledge the "impossibility" of this  but honestly so what.

I will say you can't bring someone back to life after 2 years.
I'll also say the asari's method of having children would be impossible under our own standards.
Then I'll get beat up for supporting it, but hey I guess that's what I'm here for.

For reasons that would drive me insane trying to explain, again, it doesn't matter if you did it with machines, science, whatever.

It's would be like trying to take a rock and a ball of plasma, and getting them to procreate. It just doesn't work. Human DNA and Quarian DNA are COMPLETELY different. The devs have said this. Humans are more genetically similar to a weed than they are to an alien. Not only would their genetic structure be vastly different, so would their chemical composition.

People are against it because people have different levels for their suspension of disbelief threshold.  Some people want the ME world to stay in the believable realm of science fiction, and things like this would ruin that world for some.  Some people are fine with the crazy technology, regardless of how unexplainable, other people are just so set on the idea of a biological child that they don't care.  That's where the disconnect happens really.
