Yes, yes, I meant to kick out another three today, but I got sidetracked by ZeroPunctuation.  Tommorow, hopefully, I hope to add Jones, Nixon, and *insert name here*.

Let's answer why it is or is not moral to withhold the evidence without resorting to "It's Tali"

Since when have I ever answered a question like that?

In the interest of starting discussion, I have this query:

At the end of Tali's loyalty mission and during her trial, you have to choice of whether to withhold the evidence of her father's experiments, or to let the evidence be known.

If you withhold the evidence, you're not telling the Quarian public of the war crimes conducted by someone of their government. Don't they deserve to know?

Seeing as how the quarians themselves can not settle on a decision, I actually did predict that it may cause more harm to the composition of their fleet integrity than it would solve any problem. The quarians are not ready to make any sort of decision like that obviously, so whatever would help them is a better option. Not all truths are meant to be shared.

Ok, ok, now from a human perspective... The Admirals are fighting over issues anyway so, poitical infighting does not vibe, throw that out. Tali stated she did not want anyone to know about it because she did not want all the "good" her father did to be undone by a single mistake. In the end you are faced with a ends justifies the means/means determines the end/or a I am here for Tali end. The reality is that the hidden truth hurts no one, the nature of the research was not made clear. The only concern was reputation, the letter recieved later from the Admiral(s) confirms that.

So simplified your responses were, humanities goals (Give Information), relationship with Tali (withhold information).

I love Rune's. So true.

I used to really like Rune.  I remember when he went off the rails.  It was probably the only time I've felt disillusioned about the Tali thread.

Fake Edit:  No, wait, finding out the OP was trolling his own thread was a big letdown, too.

The reaction to Dragon Age 2 was hilarious and sad at the same time. It almost feels like some people on the forums are caricatures of human beings.

Image IPB And we aren't?

Reading into others as tropes has really desensitized me. Now I feel like we are all characters in some whimsical story.

That sounds exciting.

Rune's a good measure of this thread's state of affairs.  If he be deleting his account, going Geth for awhile, or other such crazy, its not going good.

If he is speaking in coherent sentences, its going well.

Anyone think it be cute is they put in a adopted kid subplot in ME3? I mean it could be a nice way to explore themes of legacy and family withoutout having to push the plot forwards 10 years or so. Also since it would be the same kid on all playthroughts, bioware wouldn't need to make a seperate character for each romance.

Course what romance you pursue could effect which crewmate the kid thinks of there other parent and inclinded to toake as a role model.

Come on guys, you know it be cute and simple enough to put in, plus it could lead to comady gold moments.:wizard:

Tali may only be concerned about the image of her father (and I am not even sure this is the case), but Shepard need not only be concerned about Tali and what she wants. I saw revealing the evidence to the public as a violation of the sovereignty the Quarian government have as well as causing social and political disorder that the Quarian people simply do not need. Everyone involved in the experiments are dead - the ultimate punishment. We need not cause strife within the Quarian people and try to question their rule because of the them.

Rune and I got on well enough.

Until you, me, and Azint did that short Angel of Death story. He then proceeded to **** me out for the better part of the day. We generally have a tolerant relationship.

Not always though. I'll never forget the time he E-mailed me with an idea to write a story about Tali getting burned to death...

I about flipped out.

I would prefer they left that for the epilogue or near the epilogue. The most preferable course of action would not to have any mention of childen, and for the player to decide what transpires in their head instead.

It'd be cute as all hell, but not exactly in keeping with the general tone of the series.

No, actually.  Rune's always been the borderline certifiable fanatic of the thread to me.

EDIT: Fixxed.:wizard:

Outside of Thanemance, I'm not so big on the idea of Shepard having a surrogate child.

I mean, you already have Grunt, who is more or less Shepard's kid anyway.

I still cannot grasp the concept that RUNE had that idea. Out of all the people on this thread...

Not to mention he was thinking about actually writing it.

From a meta-perspective; giving the evidence clearly upsets any sort of political balance that remains on the Migrant Fleet- they split off into factions with half of them planning to go to war with the geth. I fail to see how having your prospective allies initiate a fight with another power can possibly be a sound decision. The point of the mission being you must advocate Tali, and by withholding the data you are securing that. And as I stated, I had this feeling that presenting the data would not go well for the quarians since none of the Admirals are capable of settling on a decision on what to do with the geth conflict. Giving them the data seemed like a clear way to further throw them off, and it does.

No, actually.  Rune's always been the borderline fanatic of the thread to me.

I think he's improved. He's taken a more moderate stance and seems to generally be happier now. I hope this continues. He's a good person.
