At the present moment it seems that her desire for the evidence not to be revealed is purely for the sake of her father's image, given that I did not remember any indication otherwise. However, I also do not remember any definitive proof that that was the only factor (although it seems likely). It's possible that part of it has to do with the possible social disruption that such a war crime would cause, especially from someone of Rael's status. I would need to replay the loyalty mission and analyze what she says in order to form a more researched opinion.

Sorry, I did see this but was distracted by something shiny.

Oh, you're just leaving your options open?  Fair.

I just take her at face value.  Her relationship with her father wasn't perfect, but she seems to recognize that although what he gave her wasn't exactly what she wanted, he did  mean well by it.  The best she can do to honor his memory is to protect him.

Edit:  was this close to posting AdviceRael here...

We do seem to match up a bit...

1) FF's tend to lean towards the depressing (his in plot, mine in Squick)
2) Neither of us have done a Co-op fic.
3) Mutual Hatred.;)

Sibling rivalry.

Now who's the evil one? That's debatable.

Yes, I have (my friends and I had "Pinhead Night '95" back in high school.  good times), but I'm not quite recalling how they fit into Condemned.  Mostly bums of various levels of derangement, as I recall.  And those f-ing mutants with the flaming torches near the end.

The department store messed me up good one night, yeah.

That... thing at the end of the game looked like a cenobite from Hellraiser.

The locker scare in the school, saw it coming a mile away. It was the regular mannequins that spooked me, the regular ones that were following me.

Everyone always says they saw that locker a mile away.  I never did.  Still have the stain on my floor where my soda spilled as I literally jumped in fright.

I can agree with this. I'll also add a bit more context. From what she says in ME1, Tali was both resented and placed upon a pedestal because her father's admiralty position. She does not like this (some may benefit from keeping this in mind), and I can only imagine that such things would increase trifold had they known about what Rael did. to bring a parallel to our own societies, the children of disposed dictators or war criminals are usually treated with animosity.

Oh, the filipino fighting stick guy?  Yeah, he was pretty awesome.  A particular sound slowly destroying the world was an awesome idea, too.

Oh yeah, I knew exactly what mannequins you were talking about.  I wasn't sure they were moving behind me for a while, myself, because I could never quite recall what pose they used to be in.

This game sounds quite fun. How does it compare to Silent Hill, if you have played that?

The random chatter by the quarians pre-trial certain make it seem like she was tarred with the same brush as Rael on a regular basis.

More fighty.  It's essentially a melee-based FPS, whereas Silent Hill is a sorta-isometric survival horror.

Indeed. That is evidence of what I said, yes. Revealing the evidence would mean both Tali and Rael are vilified.

From a meta-perspective; giving the evidence clearly upsets any sort of political balance that remains on the Migrant Fleet- they split off into factions with half of them planning to go to war with the geth. I fail to see how having your prospective allies initiate a fight with another power can possibly be a sound decision. The point of the mission being you must advocate Tali, and by withholding the data you are securing that. And as I stated, I had this feeling that presenting the data would not go well for the quarians since none of the Admirals are capable of settling on a decision on what to do with the geth conflict. Giving them the data seemed like a clear way to further throw them off, and it does.

That theory only holds true if you actually believe in the sustainability of a "power vacuum". The letter from Zen after the trail if you withheld the truth states "Humanity could have benefited". Where this could/would have gone is only theory but the political pull within the migrant fleet could be significant. Could go like this, Shepard gives the data to the admiralty board, data that shows how to control the geth. This of course is not covered up or hidden and the majority populace of the fleet knows it was shepard that provided the data. An alliance between humanity and the quarians could develop and perhaps a military take back of the quarian home world.

The other choice leaves the data in the hands of, for lack of a better term "unstable" individual and allows her to do with it as she and the other admirals deem fit. While you are left with a happy Tali and eventually the conversations with legion about how the geth are repairing the home world.

From a Logical human standpoint handing the data over is the right choice. From a moral human standpoint withholding the data is the correct choice. Personally I withheld it through a renegade choice, as I feel Shepard is a good guy but not a nice person. No "hero" in the history of mankind was a "nice" person.

Silent Hill's gameplay was never quite good. Very clunky. I appreciate Silent Hill for the psychological horror elements though. I am hoping they make the protagonist in the newest version particularly disturbed.

It is much more action-oriented than Silent Hill is and does not feature awesome psychological themes, but it does well with what it was supposed to. I do recommend giving Condemned a look.

On the other hand, she's perfectly willing to be vilified in his stead if you withhold the evidence and get her exiled.  Withholding the evidence isn't a selfish move on her part in that respect.
