The only real thing I felt could indicate Miranda's abilities would be her genetic enhancements or whatever and her experience leading projects and being rather hardline. Other than that, she seems like she would NOT be a good team leader.

With Jacob, you could say it's worse, because we are given no indication that Jacob would be a good leader. In fact his corsair days and saving the citadel seems to indicate that he rides solo. He led the security team on Lazarus station, but they never saw any combat. So I was genuinely surprised by his character description in the suicide mission and the fact that he could lead.

For two games, Garrus was the only one I ever considered to be a competent leader because there was not enough to say that either Miranda or Jacob could lead well. Miranda lead research projects obviously, but it was not very well alluded that she could lead a team in a fight. Jacob's commando history did explain that he can wok well in a team, but they never actually hinted at leadership.

Garrus however has had the obvious experience of leading teams, Archangel being the main support to this. In fact, his team died because he was not there to lead them.

If it pleases you, this is what Garrus will say to Miranda if Jack is dead:

(accusatory, pointing)" I don't want you leading the second team! Half of us don't even trust you."

Isn't that quaint? My love for Jack far exceeds my want to hear that line.

*sigh*

Oh well. Later guys I hear birds chirping.

Fair point - but in context of this discussion, it was far too subtle. Making the skills of the squad mates you have unknown is against the point of the suicide mission.

Judging from all the fail I've seen on these forums, EVERYTHING was too subtle.  How many people have thought Thane should do the vents?

People: 'Vents? Thane was in the vents in his recruitment mission! Go Thane go! :D'

Or Zaeed or Samara or WTFwhoever lead a squad?

"We need someone who can lead from experience"

People: 'Well Samara's freaking ancient I choose her :D'
People: 'Well Zaeed's an old guy yay! :D'

Garrus was the only real person who we know could lead from experience. Miranda - no experience leading squads. Jacob? Evidence is hard to find.

I actually let Jacob take the vents on my first game. I was naive.

This. Not to mention an assault rifle. It's Miranda's fault for saying that line.

Not particularly.  Garrus should know better than to get all inflamatory in a briefing.

Maybe he doesn't want to see the squad collapse upon itself because they don't trust Miranda.

Zaeed, Mr. "I spent my career getting into missions with everyone but me dying at the end."

Brilliant, Bioware forums. That is the sign of true brilliance and perception.

It's an easy way to get rid of him if you don't like him.

The suicide mission was definitely imperfect. I think only Garrus, Tali, Legion, & Jack were done decently in it.

The best deaths are dying from seeker swarms or dying as Diversion Team Leader. All the other deaths aside from maybe getting impaled on the Normandy suck.

Seeker Swarm deaths are unnerving, not so much the predictable ones like the females but listen to Mordins voice... **** is strait creepy, like he could not even predict the "discomfort".

I love how the seeker swarms can carry away a krogan. Not.

Why just not leave the victim in that stasis field and have collectors to grab it.

Also, I finished my fanfic last night and here is the final chapter!
So anyone who is interested, can now read it in a one, big whoop. :wizard:

Tali smiled so widely, that her cheeks started to hurt. “Why?” she teased him.
“It's, ah... It was just. My first rescue mission ever and a first contact with quarians. It had some sort of magic in it, and its one of the few memories which makes me smile when I think about it,” he replied, finding himself suddenly nervous. Gathering his courage, he squeezed her hands gently.
“And yet again, I ended up to save the same quarian girl, who in return gave me something great, and created another happy memory for me to think of,” he spoke softly, his gaze not faltering from her eyes.
“Oh, keelah...” she said and turned her head away as she felt the heat on her cheeks.
“And not just any quarian girl, but a princess!” he regained his composure and started to tease her. “A heir to an admiral itself, royalty aboard my ship.”
“Oh, shut up, you bosh'tet,” she snorted and pressed one of her fingers deeply into his lower back, causing him to twist under the pressure.

I don't get why people hate things "CUZ DEY POPULER." It's the stupidest excuse ever. Let's see an example of this. Back in '07-'08 everybody loved the Halo games. Now everybody hates them "CUZ DEY POPULER."Image IPB

I don't like how Garrus is starting to become hated because of this, as if Tali isn't hated enough for the same reason. Epsecially considering how ridiculously awsome Garrus is. Hell, even I can understand why people might not like Tali so much but GARRUS?

Anyway, on a completely different topic (AKA: this page): I didn't let Garrus be the fire team leader because I was scared of him dying so I picked Miranda 'cause I don't like her but she's loyal. Though Garrus is definately the better leader, forming his dirty dozen vigilantes on Omega. For similar reasons I didn't put Tali through the vents, I put Legion except I love Legion...and I like Kasumi...infact, with tech specialists they were cruel. All the techies are awsomeImage IPB

I like how Garrus says nothing when he's shot while he's leading the fire team. While the othe team leaders says that they need to rest, Garrus just gives Shepard a look that says it all.

That's how much of a bro he is.

Legion truly shines on the valve opening run with his Widow.

Tali puts her trust in Shepard to the test, when she's going into the tube and it pays off.

I usually take Samara instead of Jack, because Jack annoys me for some reason when he talks all the time.

And for the final battle, I take Tali/Legion, Tali/Garrus or Tali/Kasumi most of the times.

I dont think the reason for the Garrus/Tali hatred is because they're popular it has more to do with - how a hater would describe it - fanboys and fangirls gush over them.

Me, I like Garrus he's like a mini Saren now. I like Tali too but she acts moe like Liara in ME1 now, tripping and stubbling over her own words.

Tali is fumbling with words when she's really nervous, like when she's about to do something she's never done before.(Removing a certain part of her suit for example)

Otherwise she's just as self-confident as everyone else, and she shows it.

Tali would be disappointed.
First, people only see her suit.
Now, they see only her romance. Tsk, tsk. There's a whole lot more in dat suit! :wizard:

It's always the same thing. "Ooh, she could get sick. She's vulnerable. I wonder what she looks like under the helmet."
