No.  That's not it at all.  I look at it as this:  Tali (and all quarians) are prisoners to their suits, to the Flotilla.  If both were quarians on their homeship, they would be able to (to steal from Cal) submit a request for a clean room.  Even if it is just to see face to face, and not just to fornicate.

Tali deserves to have that option as well. Seeing as it is going to take her longer to adapt to Shepard than another quarian, she deserves the options that a determined captain can provide. Yes, it is a luxury. But she will have something few quarians will have - the option to be unsuited with her lover whenever she wants.

It is freedom. That is why it is important.

The ability to get some Tali-lovin' is a very nice side effect, but not the primary one IMO.

I see your point.

Top.

*Shepard sits there, soaking in the revelation.*

Shepard:
Thanks, Garrus. I needed to hear that.
Garrus: Anytime, Shepard.

*Short pause. Shepard stands up, then motions toward the door.*

Shepard: I've got to get back to work.
Garrus: Alright. I'll be here if you need me.

*Shepard leaves. As the door shuts behind him, Garrus mimics a pistol with a hand firing a shot in Shepard's direction, then blows imaginary smoke off a finger.*

Garrus: Scoped and dropped...

*Garrus holsters his imaginary pistol to his hip with a flourish, then reactivates his console. There are always more calibrations to do.*

This is exactly what happened prior to the conversation.

As the writer, I hearby decree it to be so.

Glad I could help.

Glad I could contribute before I left for work. See ya'll later!

A clean room is not about anything other than giving Tali her own freedom. She needs and deserves that much.
EDIT:  Uhdnrt said it best. :)

Fun fact: Snark means "snore" in my first language, Swedish.Image IPB

It's three in the afternoon here, I and JUST woke up...

Haven't slept in like that in months...

I wonder how much sleep quarians require a night... probably close to humans... I'd think.

I really like Liara's romance, Goat, and it was fresh in my mind. And, while I did enjoy the Talimance as it was presented prior to Omega-4, it didn't grab me quite enough. Gender difference?

Liara and Tali are both female lol yes, I know, monogendered, but the codex does say "an all-female race", and well...they look and mostly behave like females.

Anyways I'm not harpin on you :P I know once I try out a Garrus romance, I will not be able look at it the same as an actual female would. Still, it's gunna be totally worth it.

Probably less, because of all the work they have to do aboard their ships. I think they only get around the requierd hours of sleep.

I'd have thought they probably are very lax about sleep. No day or night cycles means you probably get to sleep whenever you're tired, assuming your shift is over or it's your day off.

Unless you have a job that requires more attention or something.

Ah, Navy life.  6 hours of rack time and 18 of work, training and listening to someone yelling.  Rinse, repeat.

Some people can get around with sleeping less than four hours? Jeez, that can't be good.

Four to five hours required on a consistant basis. Less than that for prolonged periods and strennuous activity will result in death.

Day off?  No such thing for a ship at sea.  And they are at sea here.

Only difference is that the kind of "sea" they're dealing with can kill them instantly.

True but 300ft deep is also kinda risky :)

Random Tali note, I really forgot about all the great lines she has in ME1.  "I love this place, the crowds, the action.  Its great!"  In the wards.  Not to mention hearing "See you later:wub:"  for the first time in too long.  Liz Sroka is great.

Brings me back to the initial stages of Talindoctrination

These aren't all military vessels, most are civillian, and they're overcrowded. They have more than enough people for one job, and I doubt they're always on the move. I doubt most ships are run military. Could be wrong, of course.
