and you'll likely REALLY hate Cerberus when it's over.

I have some thoughts on this, but since no spoilers has already been invoked, I'll hold my tongue.

I believe my response to Rip's assertion should be rather obvious...

You'll agree with me. You'll agree that no sapient should have to endure that. You'll imagine Tali, strapped to that machine, tubes forced down her throat, her arms and legs screwed into place, her eyelids forced open, and never ending tears flowing down her face, and you will despise ever having entertained the notion that doing this was a good idea. You will hate Cerberus, and you will hold your quarian close to you, and you will promise to build her a better world, where she is free to live on her homeworld, and where she does not fear the geth, nor do they fear her, and these cruel experiments will never again be forced on anyone.

*snip*

As I pen these words now at some remove, I am again struck by the thing from the steeple's last intelligible words to me. I had taken them as a warning, then, that M. Arterius was near to accomplishing his blasphemous goal. However, I now see that I was confused by the creature's inhuman, buzzing inflection. It was no warning, but rather an assessment of all life on our planet, reaching back into undreamed of pre-human cycles, and extending as far into the future as our pathetic scrap of matter might support what feeble life can exist in the face of the uncaring cosmos. Our time is short. I was soon to understand, much to my sorrow, the cause.

Oh. ****.

Because Denton totally had that much Humanity to
begin with.

He did.  Had a brother, had friends, a
home, etc.

I join the Illuminati every damn time I play.  Humans
should be ruled by their own kind.

He had a brother, and people wanted to be his friend. The majority of his humanity was assumed by others, rather than projected by himself. Gunter, Anna, Manderly, and... whatshisname I don't remember from FEMA definitely understood he was definitely machine enough to be less than fully human. AI's certainly seem to think he's one of them, at least. It's really up to the player to fill in the rest of his humanity (as evidenced by the first conversation with the UNATCO guard selling ammo on Liberty Island), but Denton in and of himself isn't really that human.

I feel now like explaining why I don't like and dislike Zaeed at the same time.

Zaeed certainly took a long time for me to finally like. This drawing certainly helped me find one of the reasons I really do like him for.

I actually liked Zaeed more when I did not really know about what his loyalty mission entailed.

Truly? The project goal, Archer or no, wasn't exactly the picture of morality.

Don't get me wrong:  the goal is reprehensible.  But Cerberus is not at fault (I believe) for the VI going haywire.

Zaeed is a member of their archetypes, yea. He's supposed to be the "tough grizzled veteran guy" that is in so many Bioware games.

Zaeed is like ME's Duke Nukem in a sense.

He just doesn't give a goddamn. This makes him awesome. To me, anyways.

Suffice to say I think Cerberus isn't exactly at fault there.

Being indirectly at fault is STILL at fault in this case.

TIM was putting pressure on Archer. He knew it would force Archer to get results. If you give David to Archer, the Illusive Man commends you for the descision. Him not DIRECTLY giving the order does NOT absolve him of what happened. It only allows him to deny his involvement. You never noticed a pattern before? ALL of his projects are set up so he can deny knowing what happened. Every single one. Lazarus. Subject Zero, Overlord. It doesn't take a genius to figure out this is how he operates. Letting his people think they have complete and utter freedom to do what they want, and then just turning them loose. I'm sure he keeps tabs on EVERYTHING that goes on supposedly behind his back.

Information is his weapon. That you believe he is ignorant or not at fault is... I have to say, dissapointing Buddha.

Too bad, then, that Zaeed is compared to Chuck Norris on the forum basically. Not that that actually affects me my opinion of the character itself.

Except that Saren doesn't man up and apologize to Anderson, saying that he let his emotions get the better of him and he almost wrecked the mission.

You're striking out on analogies tonight.  Not getting enough sleep?

Wrex is not awesome for being a krogan, krogans are awesome because Wrex is one.
