I adore Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy. She has it all in one sentient bodyThe style, tech smarts, leadership, weaponry, feelings/emotions, deep sympathy/empathy/compassion for other cultures and members, and a tantilizing knack to never give up on what she does best. I made a motivational poster to express who and what Tali'Zorah vas Normandy is. Not only is she a bombshell, she's a damn good squad mate and LI!
*snip*
Hello! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie] Thanks for the welcome. It's amazing this thread has way OVER 9000 pages! It'll take anybody a lifetime to read this whole thread [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie] Glad I could show some love here though.
Agreed with your synopsis entirely, good write up, and lol-worthy motivational poster
And there are so many reasons you shouldn't attempt to read the whole thread, the main one being you never will catch up.

I'm on of the many Tali'Zorah fans and I'm really quite smitten by her. Love the character that Bioware has created. And It is actually because of this that I wish for the following:
I don't ever want what's beneath her mask revealed to me. Ever. Sure I might plead and pick. If a bioware art director would send me a link to a confirmed faceshot right now, I would open the hell out of it in curiosity. Fact is however, that it's never going to be as good as what I'm currently thinking of.
What am I thinking of? Why I actually can't say. She's some sort of mammal humanoid on three toes with feintly glowing eyes and a nose. That's it.
However, I also know she's cute, sensitive, unselfish and bashfull. She's a sweetheart. That's the most important thing and it's going to be one heck of a challenge to design me a face that matches the feelings that I have personally attached to a character like Tali's. No matter what Bioware is going to do, I'm going to be dissapointed. And if I'm not going to be dissapointed, 90% of the other fans are.
And so why would you want to reveal anything? Sure some people are going to hiss at never seeing her face, but at the same length, that's exactly what draws us. It creates hype, fascination and fan speculation.
If official sources are never releasing any information, I can always disagree with unnofficial information and use my own immagination. Now that's storytelling.
Welcome, I see your reasoning, and it would be difficult to please everyone, but by not revealing her you are also going to disappoint a large number of people. It's really a no-win situation, or if you're optimistic (because everybody complains about everything) it's a win-win situation.
I don't accept the reasoning that they wouldn't be able to please everyone or that the mask is part of her character. Tali hates that damn helmet, and showing what she really looks like to Shepard helped complete her story. She achieved that, and technically you can say that's enough, but that means that we are not Shepard, we're some bystander watching from the side. That I would be disappointed about more than simply not seeing what she looks like.

"TIM didn't know" is irrelevant. It is his organization and he is responsible for its actions. When there is misconduct, the chain of command is responsible for taking corrective action. If it only happened once, it could be written off as an isolated incident. Cerebus has such a history of atrocities that its chain of command should be tearing the organization apart at the seems, searching for the systemic flaws that make it so prone to disaster.
But it hasn't. Because TIM doesn't care. His e-mail after a paragon resolution to the Overlord disaster is hideously amoral.
Deniability is not innocence.

Of course they called in Shepard.
They didn't have anyone else who could take on the hundreds of geth and mechs that had taken over the facility. It wasn't them being responsible. It was a lack of options.

Meaning she's perfect, and just about every other character sucks.

Rather, desperation. Shepard is the only competent thing Cerberus has done, and seeing how much they've ****ed up with all of their other projects, it's not surprise they brought him back. Cerberus seems utterly incapable of getting the job done. Could you imagine if the Overlord, or the Reaper, or the Lazarus Cell had tryed to take on the Omega 4 Relay without Shepard's help?
There is no way it would have happened. They brought back Shepard because they needed someone who isn't a total **** up. Which is sad, when that person can possibly be only a notch or two below a madman.

She hasn't touched another person since she was an infant. She hasn't shown her face to anyone who since adolescence. She's a 24 year old virgin who has seen multiple kinds of hell and is trapped inside a skintight suit that prevents her from touching or interacting with the world.
If someone isn't needy after all that... well... ****... they must be made of stone or something.
