Sounds quite great. One of the problems I had though with Jack romance is that I did not feel there was enough bonding and build up beforehand. Not enough reciprocation. It's kind of like jumping from people on the edge of enemies (or at the very least, not friends) into lovers. I also got this strange feeling (though this somewhat ties into what you said) that Shepard was toying around with a confused girl.

This one is true. It's quite annoying that Shepard has to say no twice in order to avoid the romance.

I don't really think hat there are pros and cons to certain romances.  It's about what you prefer, and I prefer Tali.

I have, however, done the other two romances, and they are both definitely good.  Still, as I said, I prefer Tali.

That's more clear.  Jack's was good because you get her to finally trust someone enough to open up to him.

And Miranda, well, is basically the same deal with less crazy.

It may just be me, but I do very much enjoy stories where a troubled character bonds with another and are shown compassion and because of that the turn to become more positive. Jack initially treats Shepard as just another Cerberus flunkie, granted a much less lenient figure, but it is quite obvious she had little respsect for Shepard. The more Jack talks about herself, the more emotional she becomes, not all pick it up, but that is a very stark contrast to how she was when she first joins. I felt the pacing was about as reasonable as any other romance, except perhaps Garrus and Tali, you do end up nuking a facility to show Jack you do care. That must count for something.
