Would be a little confusing for those who doesn't follow these news reports, though.
In ME2, Thane's dying, and suddenly in ME3 he's just fine thanks to some deus ex machina that happened off-screen.

I don't think there's any special reason behind it.
But if I'm going to be a total sap, I'd say it's symbolizing the stars.

I doubt it, was present on Geth, so we can say it's at least dated back to time on Rannoch. Maybe symbol of Rannoch or something?

How 'bout it's just a symbolic thing? To know when they are speaking, since you can't see their mouths or lips moving. Especially when dealing with other races it would come in handy (before the exile).

I think I've heard or read somewhere that some the quarians had envirosuits before the Morning War. Mostly because their immune systems were weak even before the geth drove them away.

I... Wow! I think this is the best take on Daro I have seen, regarding Tali and her trial. Of course the refer to the Reckoning is so clear, but I love it.
If you recall, she gets extremely snippy with Liara during the briefing where Ilos is discussed. I was pretty sure jealosy was the driving force there.Thelacan wrote...

I like it, thought I don't like Ash being described as so bigoted as she is. Of course little romantic jelousy can do wonders to human nature.
But remember, she doesn't complain anything over Tali in the ME1. She is only worried for Garrus and Wrex, which I can understand perfectly. A turian and a krogan.
