They watched as buildings burned, as men and women died and all they could do was watched. Haplessly Tali and Garrus stood watched In the distance thunderous clashes of a biotic tug of war could be heard. Tali watched on edge she never felt so useless before in her life. Every battle that Shepherd fought since they met she had been by his side. Now the most important battle of his life and she stuck watching and hoping.
"Its getting pretty bad out there..." Garrus spoke his voice full of apprehension. He hated this, everything in him was screaming for him to be down there with them and d something. It was a bitter swill to swallow knowing that his closest friend, one of you only friends life was hanging on by a thread his body possessed by a monster hell bent on destroying everything. Everything in his head told him he was being a coward but his heart told him he would just get in the way. His heart told him trust his teammates, to have faith in them.
"I know Miri, she'll bring him back." Garrus turned his gaze to Jacob who found a place beside them. "I know em' all really, Miri, Samara, Jack even the new guy Imari." he smiled faintly a warm resolve filling him as sounds of battle grew more intense. "It's something about people like them, people like Shepherd. They don't know how to fail. So have faith in em and in Shepherd he loves you both too much to let this beat him."
Faith Tali thought to herself it had been years since she prayed for strength from her ancestors. After all she had been through in life she started to believe they had forsaken her. For the first time in years she closed her eyes in her heart of hearts she prayed.
Ancestor please bring him back to me, bring him back to us
