Miranda traced on the table with her finger.  "We'll split into two groups and take both directions.  The forest should give us adequate cover.  We'll move towards the cave in a pincer movement, killing any kobold in our way.  The cave entrance should have the heaviest guard, but if we attack from both sides, we'll cause additional pressure."

"That's a pretty good plan," Garrus said.

"I know."  Miranda just smiled at Shepard.  "One point for me."

"I want a point," Grunt said.  "What do I have to do to earn a point?  This had better not be one of those female things you get nervous about whenever I ask."

"You don't get any points yet," Tali said.  "You have to gain experience first."

"Everyone here has experience," Mordin said.  "Wouldn't be hired by Cerberus otherwise.  Granted, some have less experience than others.  Garrus terrible at singing, for example."

Garrus shrugged a stiff turian shrug.  "You get bored when you do calibrations all day."

I don't know why people call it "betraying Tali." Technically you're only implicating her father here, and in the process giving her a chance to not be exiled. I would also extend that the people who do not reveal the evidence out of malice or just not liking the character may have a reasonable excuse such as the desire to let the truth be known.

Its betraying Tali because she is putting all of her trust into you that you stand by her.  Shepard is there to speak for Tali's behalf, and doing what she doesn't want is betraying her trust.  If Shepard never planned on doing what she wanted, he never should have accepted being her council (I know you can't actually deny it, but still.)  You aren't there to expose an evil or get Tali exonerated, you're only there to protect a friend.

I'm not falling for it.

Not really. I although I don't actual agree with revealing the evidence (had I been Shepard), I think the desire to reveal the truth is still valid.

Tali: ...I was going to bring music, but I didn't know what you'd like... and I'm babbling like an idiot.

Spat: ...It's-uh-*cough* ...It's alright baby, come here.

*10 seconds later*

Tali: ...What I'm... feeling...

Spat: Holy butter scotch pancakes, she's beautiful! Rune, eat your damn heart out. Oh man, everyone on the forums will be so damn jelou-

Tali: *Pounce*

So is sparing Sidonis also betraying Garrus? He put all of his trust into you, too. Shepard also makes no promises before the trial decision itself.

Shepard is there to speak for Tali's behalf, and doing what she doesn't want is betraying her trust.

Isn't speaking on her behalf exactly what Shepard is doing when he reveals the evidence? They did come to the Flotilla in the first place in help Tali not get exiled.

Like the Sidonis decision, Shepard can decide that it's in Tali's best interest (so she is not exiled, and instead it's only her father who is reviled and not her) and Shepard can also decide that the Quarian people should know of the horrible experiments that a member of their government had done.

Except for the part where someone you know and who has fought at your side BEGS you with all of her heart not to do it.

It's not about the evidence. It's about Tali.

I personally would have opted fro a private reveal to only the Admirals of what really happened while letting the public get the paragon speech. Just like how you can tell that one Admiral the truth, the one that was friends with Rael. I can't remember the names.

Han'Gerrel, I believe. I also think that telling the admirals privately is better than telling the public immensely.
