That doesn't... really work. Not when using an established character. You have no incentive to keep reading... it's like reading the ending of a book first... then reading the beginning... it just doesn't... the reader has no reason to continue reading.

it's a roaring rampage of revange. it's more about hunting down the one's responsable then leading up to her death. I'm going for the reader wanting shepard to find and punish the one's responsable.

That only works if the reader cares. Sure, Tali just died, but, so what? Tons of fics have that. There isn't any buildup to it. Her relationship with Shepard isn't fleshed out. There's no development. Sure, we all know who Tali is, but not in the context of your story. Give us a reason to care about YOUR Tali and Shepard, build up, intrigue, point and purpose, and when the audience cares, then you go off on a killing spree.

That's the stance Jones and I are taking with Reckoning, at any rate.

What Rip said.
You need to have the reader grow an attachment to the characters instead of throwing them into the fray right off the bat
Give your characters life, three dimensions, make the reader care about them. Make the reader suffer when something bad happens to them. Need to build them up,

Basic formula.

Meet Protagonist. Explain Situation, history, views. Give them problems to solve, meet other characters. Tear character down. Build character back up. Conclusion. In this case, we'd be talking about Shepard. Same Formula as Reckoning.

I tried co-oping on a starwars fic once but in hindsight the concept was bad and we sort of forgot about it when my partner and I started dating.:)

It's k.

The simplest formulas are the best.

E=MC^2

Look at all of the crazy things you can do with just that one there.

I wonder how many pages all the Tali support threads would be if one were to copy and paste it in one massive book?

Jones and I recently tested how many pages we've compiled with our discussions on Reckoning.

Should be about 400 pages now in Microsoft Word.
