Eviscerator.

Edit:  ^^^^ Really?  I like how the Evi lets her keep some distance.

It's got the Cord-Hislop logo on it. It's unworthy of her.

Tali doesn't need to keep her distance from the enemy. She's not affraid to shoot them in the face.

She's a quarian.  It doesn't matter who made the machine, it's what it can do for her.

And I prefer she stay close:  it keeps flankers away from me.

I give each character weapons that suit them.

Garrus gets the Incisor because it matches his armor, and the the Avenger because it's a stock military gun.

Tali gets Carnifex because it's an awesome gun, and Scimitar because that seems to be her prefered gun.

Zaeed gets Viper because it's a merc gun, and Avenger because it reminds him of Jesse.

Jacob gets Predator because it's what the Alliance uses, and Eviscerator because he's Cerberus.

Grunt gets Collector Rifle because his Collector Tailoring makes the gun feel "right" in his hands.

Things like that.

Garrus: Now the Incisor because it just fits, and the Vindicator because I think of it as a commando sort of assault rifle.

Tali: A Carnifex because it is too good to pass up, and the Eviscerator because if she's living on a Cerberus ship, she may as well stock a Cerberus weapon. Irony dictates the real owner at the end.

Grunt gets the Claymore because the bulk and power matches him, and the Collector AR because a gnarly looking weapon should be paired with something just as intimidating.

Legion gets the Widow because the Widow triumphs, and the GPR for teh lulz.

Zaeed gets an Avenger for nostalgia's sake.

I use the Evi for everyone because it has a longer range and very deadly.

Too bad it has a slower rate of fire and lower clip count. It's more a pack-a-wallop-per-shot type of shotgun.

They are quite clearly larvae of the large winged insectoid creature, which are not related to the rachni.

I assumed that the rachni had a bunch of different bioforms for different jobs.  Anyway, just a wild theory.

What I wonder is why the Klixen blow up when they die. Something to do with the flames they spew?

They might not be full organic...:o

or some kind of gland

This too. They do come out of a huge beast(forget the name) they could be walking bombs :?

Shame I don't have the Collector's Edition. It was always a toss-up between the Avenger and the Revanent for me, but that's just how I roll. I'm real big on concepts like "Supressing Fire" and "Concentrated Fire". 'Marksmanship' is meant for sniper rifles. The Vindicator didn't have a neat rhythm I could use to dump the whole magazine, unlike the Shruiken SMG, so I didn't use it much.

The fun thing about the Avenger is that after a while, if another squadmember has one -in my case, usually Garrus- we wind up firing and reloading at the same time. With Squad Ammo Powers, it becomes hilariously effective really quicklike.

I don't play soldier class, so I know very little first-hand about ARs.  But I do like them in my squad for precisely the reason you mention:  they suppress bad guys.  And then the bad guys are suppressed, I get to take my time and kill them neatly.

Irony of ironies, this next time around will be the first time I play Infiltrator... on ME2, at least. I'm guessing there's some trick to using the Tactical Cloak effectively, much like Adrenaline Rush for Soldiers. I am however looking forward to using the Locust. I've heard good things about it.

Course, it would also be a first for me playing a female in ME2, and the first playthough I woo everyone's favorite turian gunslingin', collar poppin, scopin-and-droppin' vigilante. Truly, firsts all around for this one.

Tali is a master of machines, true, which is why it doesn't matter what gun she has, she's still going to kill you with it.

I prefer Tali charge the enemy with Chiktikka, while Garrus and I arrange fire support. Nothing that takes a shot at her will live long enough to take another.

True, but at range, the lower rate and magazine size are mitigated since you don't need the extra shots in as big a hurry.

Buddha I have tali do the same Tactics. She stays close to me and kills off the close guys while Chikitia (sp?) knock the bad guys out of cover for Andy Shepard's widow to eat there heads.

It's shots are only marginally lower then the Claymore, adn it shoot 3 times for the claymores 1 plus it extends all the way out to med range still landing a serious cluster of shot on enemies.

Garrus and I usually set up flanking manuevers. He and Tali bunker up and hit their strongpoint, I cloak and get into position at their flank. Once in position, I get a shot off, have Tali charge them, and give her fire support. Anything that attacks her gets mowed down by me and Garrus, and what's left of the stragglers get moped up by Tali's shotgun.

My get-out-of-trouble-quick weapon is the Arc Projector. Somehow it makes everyone it hits stop in its tracks. I take this opportunity to run for cover.

At this point? No. I dont' have a plot in mind, I don't have anything planned besides writing from wherever you end up taking the story next.

Go with the flow, remember?

I'll go until you want to call it quits.

I uses it all the time, to line up the head shots. Ever shot  I take with the widow (or in the beginning Mantis) I do it cloaked. I also use it to worm my way into cover closer to the enemy so I can use my SMG effectively. I take the damage version over the time version.

I have two distinct tactics when using both Garrus and Tali:

- We all bunker down, Garrus and I use sniper rifles, Tali uses her Carnifex. We all shoot from our position with Tali's combat drone making enemies stumble out of cover as Garrus and I snipe them, Tali will sometimes switch to a shotgun to take out any enemies that manage to get close.

- Garrus equpis an AR, Tali a shotgun and they both are set to sweep as I flank with cloak and sniper rifle, or an SMG depending on the enemies.

That, definitely.  The extra time is nice, but I haven't found a real need for it.

Also, I support a similar situation as this for the Shepard/Xen showdown in 3.

sounds effective, but I never have any luck with charging companions. I pretty much play only on insanity so anyone oout of cover really gets a beating. I however love to set Tali up behind tall boxes and luring in charging enemies and watchign them go flying do to point blank shotgun blasts.
