Not sure if anyone here played Kasumi's mission, but I had kind of a WTF moment about the quarian tablet in Hock's vault.

Kasumi's dialogue snippet suggests it must be very old, but that doesn't make that much sense. I mean, what's the oldest stone tablet w/ writing here on Earth? 4k years old or something? Does quarian civilization stretch back much farther? It seems like they can't be much more than like 500-750 years ahead of humanity.

Cant say I follow, very old can be any stretch of time.

Most civilizations are thousands of years older than humanity so i think it's safe to assume that the same goes for the quarians, i'd say they are around 1500-2000 years ahead if not more

Maybe the quarians just progressed - technologically - quicker than humanity.  Or maybe quarian civilisation does go back much farther.
There's only one way to find out.

Well, Hock's vault has a ton of antiquities, including the bust of a pharoah (which could be something like 4K to 5K years old).  But Kasumi singles out the stone tablet w/ quarian writing as very old.  "When's the last time quarians wrote on stone?  This thing is old," is what she says, I think.

Well, the asari are way ahead for sure.  They had spaceflight like what, 3000 years ago?  And the salarians not long after that?

But really the first mention that I recall about quarians in space is their exile from Rannoch 300 years ago.  They were part of the Council before that, but it's not clear how soon they showed up after the asari/salarians.
Found it, actually.  Quarian 1st contact was around 1AD.  So they are 2000 years ahead.

Yup, that stone tablet really IS old.

In fairness, summer in Finland is probably a little different than wherever Flaarg is.
