Where does it stop?  Can they meld with an omnitool?  A stick?  Can offspring result?

I'm sorry, that's bonkers.

I'd assume that whatever they meld to has to have a consciousness and be sentient.

Without understanding the wackiness of the asari nervous system, I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that with regards to inorganic materials, there's simply nothing there for them to reach out and touch.

Build a biological computer, and then perhaps you're onto something.

This right here, however, is about at "levo/dextro babies" level for me.

No, because it's Tali's response to "Captain's orders", which made it contrary to the flow of the conversation. (Hence, it wasn't necessarily "wrong", just inappropriate)
All Tali's responses are great responses. (Including the one to the renegade rejection; heck, that's one of the best, most heartwrecking pieces of dialogue in the whole game)

Well, YouTube can keep that last one.

I don't want to hear it because of that reason.

It hurts.

"Captain orders" gives +2 paragon.

The middle option, 0.

Indeed. Liz does put really much emotions in her voice acting. This can be heard on Tali's loyalty mission so well, that I can never give the evidence.

I wish I had the thing I wrote about this, where I tried to prove that it's possible.

Synthetic Semen.

It'd be all sticky and sh!t, but you wouldn't know if it was fake or if it would make you fertile ya know? Aww that'd be a total bummer, just like wondering the whole time, maybe like the sperm would be like robots and stuff and they'd build a factory in your stomach and like pump out mini-geth and stuff.. Awww yeeeaaah... And maybe frickin give birth to a Prime or a Colossus.

Wait what?

Wait, that just went somewhere horrible.

I just think it's an interesting thought experiment. I'm not serious about it.

It just seems that, to me, asari reproduction is already way far out there that adding another level like that onto it isn't as big of a stretch as the levi/dextro offspring debate.

How is it the wrong repsonse? It's all subjective.

If anything is the "wrong" response... I'd say it's the "captains orders" line...

It's not about Tali's response, it's about how Shepard shows his affection. Captains Orders makes it seem like he is making light of it, joking, like her putting her life on the line for him is a game, not to mention that's all her father ever did, was give orders. The "I'll be here fore you..." Line works to reasure her, to tell her to take her time, do it right, and that unlike last time, you won't be going anywhere, you'll be here when she needs you.

Rip, you have this effect to me.

Yeah... So... Actually, let's not talk about it.

This is a somewhat counter-intuitive argument.

Shepard, when he tells that kid on the catwalk on Thane's loyalty mission that he's a health inspector.

I thought: "Really, Shepard? That's the best you could come up with? Lamesauce."

It's a heavy conversation.  The mood could use a little lightening.  She certainly doesn't appear offended by it.

Doesn't matter, I'd feel offensive SAYING it. You're right, it's a heavy conversation. That's why she doesn't need someone to joke about it. She needs someone to understand just how important this is, to understand the gravity of it, and for her to know that she has someone who is there fore her every step of the way.

I'm finding it very hard to tell, are you trying to argue with me?
Because I'm fairly sure I've voiced my disapproval of the "Captain's orders" line...
And I do wholeheartedly agree with your reasoning, it's the same I have for not choosing it.

Additionally, I always pick the "It's a worthy promise" option on the Alarei, the paragon option is just a poorly veiled "Sh!t happens, deal with it", the renegade one just helps to reassure her, and her response makes it clear that she still doesn't agree with her father's work; so no harm done, right?

Then we have fundamentally different philosophies on the matter.  "Captain's orders" is still supportive.  It's saying "you bet I'm interested!"  You're looking too hard at the text and ignoring the gentle tone.  I don't think it can be argued he's saying "hurry it up already, I'm going soft over here!"

Actually, I keep wondering about what would happen if some..er.. slightly unstable asari figured out it could work and started some kind of freaky experiment breeding geth babies to try and discover the next level of asari supremecy!

Sorry, crossed my wires.

As for the Alerai, I always have Legion at this point, so my Shepard is still coming ot terms with the fact that Geth can be reasoned with, and is tryiing to play diplmomat here. Sure, it comes off as him being an ass, but it's important in the long run. Plus, Shepard needs to hear Tali's views on it, and why she needs to take back her world so badly. Always felt that was important.

Of course. As I said, it's simply not what I would say in the situation. The middle options is, almost word for word. That's why I go with it.
