She probably just liked the way it looked.  It certainly makes her look more grown up and feminine

No clue on purple, a childhood toy perhaps?  A purple doll named Chiktikka?

I've done somewhere from 10-12.  Haven't quite played through all classes twice, but I'm almost there.  Haven't played much recently though, working on my canon ME1 import first.

Because it's a calming color.

Its not canon, but its a logical conclusion when you see that quarians seem to be able to wear suits of any color that they choose.

That's a different scene entirely, with a more energetic reaction from Tali I would assume
