I don't think I'd propose to Tali like that...

I'd want a quarian ceremony... I've never been big on marriage... I'd want to know more about their traditions... and go with that...

I'm sure her traditions on it would mean more to her than mine do to me.

I'm just going off the assumption that what they do is similar to our traditions since we have no real info.  That said, I can't see their process of proposing being too different.  Its not like they're salarians and they fax a bank statement and a lets get busy for breeding purposes only letter

If quarians have some different process for proposing, that's what I want.  If not, the human style of getting down on one knee and just seeing her reaction will do just fine

The quarian ceremony is where we should see a lot more quarian culture.

Shepard: Tali... I want us to be together... humans have a tradition... where we... it's silly... but... two people decide they want to be together... for the rest of their lives...

Tali: I want that. I want to be with you.

Shepard: *smiling* What do quarians do when they want to be with the other person for the rest of their lives...?

Tali: You just did it.

so people who romanced in ME1 have to restart ME1 to not have a LI,
and restart ME2.

That "purity" thing about SHepard never sseing anyone befroe Tali is just a bunch of crap if you ask me.

It shouldn't change anything in game, other than their being no confrontation with the first LI.

But... personally... I couldn't bring myself to romance anyone else for MY personal playthrough... I loved Tali... and I wasn't going to romance anyone but her...

I'm just glad you didn't hate it, it's hard to observe an aspect of the game after months of hearing different perspectives and biases which in turn affects your point of view. Already I hear Garrus' romance starts off "awkward" so that's sort of the mindset I'm going to have going in, but I must have an open mind!

Goat, Garrus' romance is painfully awkward. And I don't enjoy causing trouble. I'm just weird. Miranda's my favorite character, but I think her actual rimance went off a cliff towards the end. My reactions to Tali and the Talimance were less extreme at both the love and hat ends of the spectrum.
