Then you see someone, someone you think you recognize. She recognizes you.

You now have regained your direction, you have something-- someone to look forward to. She gives you a hope that you need, she shows you that you are not alone. She does not stay, but you know she wants to, and let her go because she needs to. There will be a better time.

I made my Shepard mirror me. He's a loner. He doesn't like other people, and they dont' like him. He doesnt' like personal relationships, but the ones he has mean everything. Grew up on earth, turned on his gang and got most of them locked up. Having nowhere else to go, joined military, grew close to squad, lost them on Akuze. Meets Tali, and she and Garrus become his family over the series, as well as the rest of both crews. Essentially? Garrus and Tali are the only people Shepard "loves", and if something happened to either of them, he'd be a broken mess for the rest of his life, or he'd commit mass homicide, then suicide.

     

She is the Sun to his moon,  



My  Shepherd  was earthborn street rat. You  name it, he  has done it or sold it  in order to survive.      Sold drugs, murder, kidnapping. Running the with  Reds   he  had done it all, he had it, women, money, sex all by the age of 17 but  was empty inside so he left the life. Join the alliance, trained to be a Vanguard swore to use his Biotics to protect people , fight for something. For a while with his unit he was happy but  it did not last  his unit was lost and he was only survivor.   Once again he  pushed forward cold empty and alone but resolute he continue to fight to protect those who had no voice.  Then there was the first Normandy and the alley  he did not know then but he meet  HER.   Yet as  with all things  fate and love had other plans, other lesson that he needed to learn.  

It took him falling in love with Ashley, dying and losing Ashley to realize what  love truly is, It took  his heart breaking  and for women that  fate intend for him to pick it back and  put it back together for him to be the man he is today.

It is sexy.  And adorable.  She is clearly comfortable enough with where she is, who she is with, to be able to relax in the Cabin.  That says a lot about her trust in the Commander.
