It's like waking up in a completely different world, everyone you knew and valued as friends and even more have gone. The last memories are of evacuation, ensuring that these people you knew will make it out, then it just ends. Learning that you died, and two years have passed since you did. You wonder what has happened to the people you died saving, all you can do is assume that they moved on; it's the best you can hope for them. Working with unfamilar faces, a shadow of an enemy creeping on you, you simply proceed because that is all you can do.
Then you see someone, someone you think you recognize. She recognizes you.
You now have regained your direction, you have something-- someone to look forward to. She gives you a hope that you need, she shows you that you are not alone. She does not stay, but you know she wants to, and let her go because she needs to. There will be a better time.
