Reckoning is entertaining, but it is just fan fiction. For all we know, she could have had an amazing pilgrimage and in truth, she's just crazy (as evident by the fact that she disected her toys).

 
Well, that's pretty much the point in writing fanfics. To tell how you want it to happen.

Some of the admirals will find out anyway, so there's really no good reason to do it, other than out of curiosity that might bite you in the ass in the end.

I have a problem with people claiming that Xen is crazy, she's just power hungry and sees the geth as a way to obtain that power.  To say she is insane implies that she is mentally unstable in some way, which I doubt is the case.  Also I don't see what's so wrong with disecting toys, everyone takes apart their toys as a kid at some point.

Toy disection, eh?
Well read this then, I'm sure you'll change your opinion on the craziness of it. (Slightly)

And no person gets that obsessed/psychotic without something having happened to her, her parents might've been killed by geth, or they simply had the same ideas she has now. She could've had a horrible pilgrimage in another way. Her childhood aboard the flotilla could've been awful.

Not to mention, she's a freaking admiral, the highest military and most honored position among quarians, she must've accomplished something amazing to reach that rank (and fairly recently too, considering she's the youngest and newest admiral on the board), something that might've made her the way she is now.
Or she's just a comic book style evil genius who wants to dominate the world FOR SCIENCE. But really? Bioware's better than that.

Bioware's better than that, except when they aren't. Xen has joined Mr. Lawson on my "to-kill" list. And NB's right. I sometimes kill characters I like because it makes a good story. Miranda osn't going to survive and she's my favorite.

I can understand, chances are, when ME3 comes out, I might consider a playthrough where (a romanced) Tali dies at the collector base, but first I wanna see how they'll handle the squadmates there. (Because ME2's plot continuity was severely dissapointing)
