This begs the question of what a quarian shotgun would really be like. I'm guessing shorter range for shipboard combat, and most-likely shield-eating to deal with the geth nemesis.

Yeah, but they can't be TOO short range, they have to worry about collateral damage on their ships. I imagine something like I described. All purpose. Can engage at range, but something overpowering for close encounters, rapid rate of fire utterly destroying shields.

Or what it would look like. I don't think they have their own kind of weapons, only modified versions of other manufactuers.

There's that, too.  Though perhaps they have some cottage-industry-type weapon production.

That's not a bad point you make.  Though I hesitate to frame any argument as to why Tali is great in terms that quarians in general are inferior.  Heh.

I would guess, High shield damage of a rapid fire auotshotgun, but it having weaker AP abilities so you don't get hull damage. Or maybe it uses special ammo developed by the quarians (as a stat bonus vs. defense type) However since Quarian don't really manufacture anyhting I don't see them using "quarian" shotguns persay. Then using highly modified versions of stock weapons is almost a given however. ^_^

Quarian weapons would be interesting in that unlike most other races, they probably don't design to kill themselves.

Well, they're not, they're brilliant survivalists and engineers, but they are inferior....at least Bioware tries their best to make you feel bad for them.

There was a comparison made between Tali and Samwise Gamgee, and while their outlook RE:  good things needing preservation is similar, I noted that Tali isn't exactly an ordinary person like Samwise.  She's practically the quarian version of Shepard.

Goat replied that on a general level, you could compare quarians to hobbits in that their various physical issues (edit: like hobbits' preference for peace and quiet) prevent them from usually taking center-stage (is this a fair paraphrase, Goat?).

Surely they make their own environmental suits.  And if they grab raw materials from
systems, they would need some sort of processing.  As I recall, they process their
own fuel.  And they would make at least some parts for their ships.

That sounds like at least a rudimentary manufacturing base.

Quarians would know better than most that it's not too difficult to kill each other.

The Arc Projector can be non-lethal if used in small doses. Just like a tazer.Image IPB

Indeed. It's a mindset, too. Even though helping Shepard is essentially serving the fleet, they still have a more simple and direct idea of how they serve the fleet.

Wish I could recall Rael's email...maybe I'm talking out of my ass.
