i was thinking somewhere along the lines of ethics.  you start gaining that mindset of 'any means necissary' to stop the reapers, which leads to some bad decisions by you, which Tali disapproves of, and you two get into a bad argument over it and...well it just goes downhill and you have to try and fix it.

Well I usually play paragon, so I would not really be making decisions like that. For this to really work, there would need to be many decisionw with no real right choice, all morally grey and just as difficult to decide which is better. Take for an instance this scenario, would you rather save Earth or the Citadel? What do you think Tali would approve of or any squadmate for that matter?

I think a little bit of hardship can be a good thing for a love story. As long as it isn't something stupid. (I'm not a big fan of when someone suddenly acts out of character and it pisses the other off, or when turbulence in a relationship spawns purely from a misunderstanding of words). 

I think in ME3, something that may work (for paragon shep anyway) is him wanting peace with the Geth over war. We kinda saw Tali get a little angry at Shepard on the Alarei because of the subject. "You have no idea what it's like!", "You have a planet to go back to!", "War we don't need?", etc.

Honestly it must be coming right? Because honestly, I don't want a repeat of ME1 LI's...well since you talk to me alot, I want to be with you now.  No screw that, i want to work for the relationship

An ethics fight would be a bit too far, i'm thinking fight over what happened with Legion would be more preferable and not as disasterous.

Citadel, hands down. I think Miranda and Jacob are the onl yones who wouldn't approve.

Oh, gosh.  And Samara as a LI.  She looks mid-40s and is trying way too hard.  Plus, I doubt she likes pudding as much as Tali... kind of has to.
