I've contemplated the idea of writing something Mass Effect related, but I fear it would be overlooked immensely.

Try writing about original characters you make up that are in the Mass Effect universe. I would say that could very well get some views as it deviates from the standard torrent of squad mate romance self-insertion fanfiction that is probably out there.

Liara has some redemptive dialogue, but it's very easy to miss, and for a while it seemed like only the Liara fans knew about it, which gave them kind of a seige mentality.

I just completed the Illium arc today, including Liara's sidequests. I do feel from her dialogue that she is miserable and regrets what has happened to her, I do believe her when she says that she wants to join you.

At a story-telling perspective, I like this Liara better than the ME1 Liara. I felt ME1 Liara was too simple, she did not have much going for her to interest me. I thought her ME2 appearance surpassed her entire role in ME1 because she was actually a dynamic character who was capable of doing things on her own and not the innocent princess-esque cutout she was before.

Even if Liara does return to her normal state after this, she has a lot of scars to bear. That is interesting.

I don't ever remember ME affecting Rune's personal life, either. But okay...

He has posters of Tali in his room everywhere, remember? And he gets upset over people who don't like Tali or don't consider her their favorite in every possible way.
