Because I'm sure bringing an active geth aboard the Flotilla will really help Tali's case.
Ah yes "renegades", players who compromise morality for the sake of getting the job done faster, we have dismissed this claim.

You can still get the feeling of such despair without children, there have been numerous examples with the abscence of children not hindering that aura.GuardianAngel470 wrote...
But without horror and disgust it wouldn't be a war. A war for the survival of all life in the galaxy. I don't think they'd do it but it would motivate me. honestly I've yet to see a video game that semi-accurately portrays the horrors of war. I don't want another stagnant experience, i want to feel like all hell has broken loose. I've never seen that done in a video game. Saving Private Ryan gave me that feeling, but that was it.

And the point of this playthrough is to make the most of Legion, at the expense of the crew.

Horror and disgust can be generated in different less-offensive ways. Look, the movie you just cited didn't have kids in it at all.
Well, it technically did, but the kid never got shot or anything.

"I'm a battle hardened merc with a streak of brutality and a long stand grudge."
Yeah, get in line. I would rather see Counciler Udina beside me in battle. "Quick Udina, wrap those Collectors up in bueacratic-red tape!"

I know the game mentions "bubbles", but that just seemed for infants or the very young. There's no way a 10 year old kid or whatever would be put in a "bubble" when he has to move between clean environments.

While I disagree with your opinion, that part about Udina was rather comical.

I know that, but that wasn't the reason I cited it. I cited it because you mentioned horror and disgust, the main reason I want dead children is because I felt nothing on Horizon. The people there were meaningless, mostly faceless statistics. They were nothing but numbers and worse, they hated the Alliance. Bioware gave me a reason to dislike them, as well as making them mostly faceless. Making the player care about faceless statistics is hard, but having a wailing mother holding her dead child is easy. I would immediately care about her plight. Remember the audio log on the Alerei? The mother recording her last words for her child? i get chills every time I hear that, it is so sad. I care about that mother even though she was conducting horrible experiments on sentient beings. That is the feeling I want, and I want to be able to do something with it.
Besides, there are only so many ways horror and disgust can be done in a video game, and Mass Effect doesn't need gratuitous gore.

"Bubble" could mean a lot of things, up to a big, poofy bag with arms and legs, I'd imagine.sergio71785 wrote...
Speaking of kids, on the Flotilla there has to be "temp suits" for kids. They're going to have to move between clean environments, probably multiple times a day, so they have to have some kind of temporary, non-custom suit to do so.

The Alarei log tears me up, too. But you're still just giving more evidence that emotion can be generated without gratuitous violence towards children.

I think the moment I heard that was the moment I realized that, no matter what was going to stand in my way, I would reclaim Rannoch for the quarians. I don't care if I have to take the Normandy beyond the Veil and kill every rat-bastard one of them, I'd do it.
