No matter what, you still kind of give Cerberus the finger, even if you give them the base. You either tell him to not use it for his own goals or you'll come for him, or if he can't keep up with you, you'll crush him.

Basically? No matter what, TIM has cause to be concerned...

She's crazy enough, she'll bring the whole damn installation down on their heads.

It would be a defining moment of awesome.

This also does a lot for her and Kaiden and Ash, it kinda redeems them if they were your LI. If they were just your friend, they'd meet you later in the level, like everyone else. It gives you a reason to forgive them.
