Has anyone considered using a cooldown system based upon the class that you are playing? Think about it, a pure tech user like the Engineer will of course be better at techs than a hybrid type so why shouldn't they be able to manage multiple abilities with almost no delay between them? The same should apply to the Adept and biotics.

Anyway, an Adept should be able to train their abilites and allow them to use more than one ability at the same time. Sure there could be some type of penalty when multiple abilities are stacked beyond a certain amount (so if you use a third ability before one of the first two has reset then you are fatigued for a set duraiton) but this could be increased as the game progresses or via a passive ability.

I like the idea of certain classes having cooldown reset abilities (adept, engineer)  Maybe as a passive like "When you kill an enemy your cooldowns reset" allowing for some badass chain actions if you can set it up as so.

I think cooldowns should be grouped. A shared cooldown for biotic abilities, another for tech abilities, and another for combat abilities. That way, mixed ("dual") classes would actually have the advantage of being able to use both ability groups in rapid succession. Pure classes however, should be simply better at what they do than dual classes (more damage or duration, or better cooldowns). Alternatively, dual classes could gradually ease the penalties of being dual as they level up; a bit like dual wielding in d&d.

They are stupid. since using powers now has global cooldown and a LOT of the powers now have to be launched at the enemy only to hit the enemies cover I stopped using them to the extent I did in ME1

Chaining attacks would be kind of cool, but harder with a global cooldown
