  I hate online authorization

After Mass Effect 2 was released and find that it didn't require internet I was pleased.

However I want to play the first game , but found out that it requires online authorization.

I also found out that EA later released a tool to remove this DRM from Mass Effect 1 for pc.

My Question is that with that tool could I install Mass effect 1 and play it with out ever having to connect it to the internet?

If so please let me know.

thanks

No, it won't remove the DRM. It only deauthorizes the current installation to give you back an activation.

When you run ME for the first time, it connects to internet once and activates the game. You can then block it with your firewall if you want. You can activate the game 5 times and you need to activate the game again if you change some hardware in your PC or reinstall the OS. You can get more activations from EA when you are running out just by asking.

The deauthorization tool just deauthorizates the current online activation you have used, giving back the activation so you can use it later. If you then run ME again, it needs to activate itself again online. This tool comes with the latest patch for ME and runs itself automatically when you uninstall ME.
