Ok so I know people are upset (me included) about graphic bugs such as the sentinel Armor/Vigilence Sword Looking like Warden Commander and Starfang.

I found a quick fix that will work this fix is not for everyone because I know some people are stubburn to the core and will not want to do and would rather wait around for it to get fixed but Bioware seems busy atm and it might bee on there list of things to do but the question is how big is the list anyways. I have personally tried this fix with several of my character with 0 problems so I know it works.

So in order to fix this bug load up your Dragon Age Origins Character last save from the first game (if you did not doign anything after defeating the Arch Demon this should simply be an autosave that puts you in a field outside of Denerim) if you have played the game after deating the Arch Demon you just need to get to a good point.

Now basically Awakening imports the last save of your Dragon Age Origins game. But it would seem like we all know that the Warden's Keep is bugging several things in Awakening. So basically first goto Soldiers Peak remove EVERYTHING from the chest if you run out of space in your bags then trash it but nothing can be left in the chest. Then goto camp and go through each of your party members inventory and junk anything that is realted to Stone Prisoner/Warden's Keep DLC (a good way of figureing this out is usually DLC Gear has an Orange background in the icon with the exception of Shale's crystals but  that should be a given) It is very important that you junk every piece of Shale and Warden's Keep DLC dont leave any on your party members esp Lohgain/Alistar.

Even if you leave your party members naked it doesnt matter as they do not import over anyways so who cares. After you do all of this save the game and exit to the dashboard. You know need to scroll over to Xbox Settings then Memory then Games then Dragon Age Origins then scroll down and delete Wardens Keep (it is ok to delete this as you are allowed to re-download it for free trust me I have downloaded it now 4 times no problems)

Now start up Awakening and import you character. Don't try to play your origins character in the first game as it will error out saying you need Warden's Keep. But Awakening will be fine to import it will not ask for it.

Basically what the problem is with Alister/Lohgain/Anora at the beginning is a result of Lohgain or Alister having any DLC gear on them at the last save which screws up one of the first cutscenes. (As I have personally never married Anora as she is a total **** I can't confirm if she will act like your wife if you choose to marry her)

As for the Sentinel Armor and Vigilence Sword the problem was the fact that nothing from Wardens Keep was supposed to transfer over which in a sense no items do but if you drank the stupid blood to get the 2 extra skills that are not that good anyways it transfers over thereby bringing the graphic glitch for Sentinel Armor and Vigilence sword with it. And if you import with no Warden's Keep installed you will notice that those 2 extra skills are now gone.

I have played the game twice now using this fix and have had zero problems my first playthrough I did not use this fix and I lost my armor in the damn Silverite Mines forcing me to reload to a previous save and Sentinel Armor/Vigilence used wrong models which bugged me so much that I never put the helm on cuz it looked weird so I never got the set bonus which pretty much basically did not make the set better than the golden armor of Calien so I just used his armor instead. But now in my next 2 play throughs 0 problems in the mine but I still save before going in just in case and Sentinel/Vigilence looks amazing.

After seeing how Nathaniel is an Ultimate bad azz as an archer with the new skills they added Im thinking of playing Origins again as an Elven Archer so all I will simply do is redownload Wardens Keep and to do this just bring up Origins and click DLC then under wardens keep it will say purchased and there will be an option to download it again and you are good to go.

I know this isn't a true fix but it is a work around so that you can enjoy the game to its fullest with out this couple minor bugs ruining the game for you. If you have any questions just post them here and I'll see if I can help.

Hope this calms some of the people down that are really just wanting to enjoy the game while I know some of you guys are really um...lets use the words "dedicated" to the cause of getting Bioware to fix the game before you touch well all I can say to you is enjoy being angry and posting here when Bioware ignores many of the angry flame posts anyways. I have no doubt that this will be fixed but the earth wasn't created over night and great things take time to be perfect or as close to perfection as it can be. Give it time

Anyways hope you all enjoy the game as much as I do.

P.S - Will aslo post this in the general forums as well to try to help as many people as I can.

For Feralden and the Grey Wardens ;-)

Just a clarification question. When you say "Junk" does that mean actually put it in junk or destroy it or just get it out of your inventory?

Hi,

I have a few playable characters with items inside the storage box at Soldier's Peak. Some of them have finished the Origins story, some have not. So I understand that I need to delete away the Warden's Keep DLC so that my character for Awakening can have the proper skin for the Sentinel Armor/Vigilence Sword. After I finish the Awakening expansion, and re-install the Warden's Keep DLC when I come back to play Origins again for my characters that have not finished the Origins story, will my items still remain in the storage box at Soldier's Peak?

They might be, as long as you don't touch those saves while warden's keep is deleted. That's actually a good question, I find it to be a complete pain in the ass to have to delete the dlc, then re-download it, because for whatever reason it takes forever to download anything from xbl. Sadly this is one bug that will never be fixed I'm guessing, the size of the fix is too big for the patch limitations that MS has, so short of releasing a free dlc for the patch, this won't be fixed. Add to that, DA2 will be out soon, and I doubt anyone there is doing anything regarding this game anymore.

I jus tested it. Yeah, the workaround still works for saves that haven't or already completed the Origins storyline and have items in the storage box at Soldier's Peak, as long as I don't touch those saves. Once I re-install Warder's Keep DLC back again, my items in the storage box are still there! Thanks!

So what happens if you do this trick and complete Awakening. Then reinstall Warden's Keep. THEN play GoA and Witch Hunt? Will you still have the proper skins for Vigilance and the armor or will it be bugged again?

Most likely they will be the wrong textures again with the dlc reinstalled. So far I was able to get the armor showing up properly on my human, but I had to hex edit the save and change the character model from human to an elf, which sucks, because it's like it's not even my character anymore. Nothing has seemed to work for the sword though short of deleting the dlc, very disappointing that the best looking sword in the expansion is bugged like that. Image IPB
