Gonna watch some tv for a bit I'll be back around reset to help those of you out who haven't won something yet. Hope to see more familiar faces since tonight is the last night for LNVS
It's unfortunate, only one more night together
It's funny I thought about making a "The Post Auction Thread" after it was over so we could still hang out lol.
Yeah we need to, I feel like i'm going to have withdrawal syndrome after this auction. I've traded all my real life friends for you guys
Pssssh who needs RL friends. Online ppl are way superior

so a small SSd as a boot drive would be better than velocoraptors?
An SSD pounds a velociraptor into dust. Trust me.
im looking at getting an AMD quad core with 4 gigs memory and a 5770ati with a SSD boot i guess trying to keep cost under a grand...
I'm running an AMD X4 955, 4GB DDR3 1600, HD 4850 (Maybe ~10% slower on average than a 5770), and SSD boot drive. It's insanity. Everything opens ridiculously fast.
I've got an AMD Phenom II x2 550, 3GB DDR3, ATI HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 and a WD Caviar Black 1TB hard drive, along with another 500GB harddrive for extra space.

thats why i was after computer parts in this contest....
any one of the items would cut my project cost enough to upgrade another section...
im also debating getting parts seperate or going with a prebuilt from one of those custom shops u see in computer mags...
price seems close, and the warranty makes me happy....
i mean i used to build computers for extra cash for guys in the barracks in germany.. but prices on pre builts seem to have stabalized...

I built my new comp in january for about $600 (reused video card, PSU, and spent ~$200 on a new 23" monitor). So unless nothing is reusable you should be able to make it work.
