Dragon Age and Oblivion are two entirely different genres, too. There's that to keep in mind. It makes it hard to reliably compare them.
Though you can compare them in terms of quality, in that Dragon Age is a well-made game and Oblivion is not.
Lol, Oblivion is buggy as hell and runs terribly even on my amazing setup (And my friend's). Unofficial patch and mods help a lot, but I'm sure DA is better made.
Yeah that's the major problem with it, they did a horribly job optimizing their code (also they have a 2 gb memory limit that causes a CTD if you go over it, can be patched to 4 gb for if you have a 64 bit OS)
Oblivion had a memory leak? I must not have played in a long time.

My brother in law keeps trying to get me to play oblivion for the 360. I keep refusing. I love rpg games, but I know how open world it is and how buggy, the two combined are just enough for me not to want to try. On their own I'd not mind either issue though. Open world games have their advantages, but like others said it's too easy to get lost in the game and lose interest.

At first I was regretting getting the Jade Pack at 9810, but I didn't realize prices would jump so high these last two days.
Still, I am perfectly willing to trade for a lithograph pack, if anyone is interested.

No, it doesn't have a memory leak that I know of... but if you load more than a few mods you'll easily reach that 2 gb mem limit especially if you use hi-res textures

I first played it on 360 before getting the PC version, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game, even with the bugs. The only problem is leveling up, that takes so freakin long

I got the Oblivion GOY edition as a gift, but never even loaded it. Is it worth playing?

I know I'd enjoy it too, but I also know it's the type of game I have to stay away from unless I'm prepared to sink massive amounts of time (which I don't mind usually, but with a job and a wife to keep happy etc it's hard to sink massive amounts of time into anything anymore).
Seems like my PC would be great at handling it though, since I have a 64 bit system that kicks ass. Now if only I could afford to switch out vista
