No, self-sniping is purposely bidding higher than your current bid when you are in the lead.

No, self sniping is you have the high bid, you out bid yourself at the last moment to keep the high bid

No, I believe they are referring to increasing your own bid at the business end of the auction by a sizeable jump in anticipation of another bidder coming in to beat the current (visible) bid.
