Any one have tested those 400 series yet by NVIDIA?

Yeah, of course. They're fast, but not much faster than the 5 series. They also have horrendous heat emission and power consumption levels. The 480 is only ~15% faster than a 5870 on average, but it costs over $100 more. So it's widely considered to be crap.

So I am guessing ATI wins over NVIDIA again. Posted Image

That outfit is sooo cute, too bad it's 110 bucks in the store. I'd look really nice in that with a ponytail =)

Well, it was up to 3998 before I added the Wi-fi card and had too many PCI cards for the slots I had, oops. Building fake computers is fun.

I did that with a laptop last year.  I think the final price was $5999.99.  I ended up with a $700 Asus.

Almost makes me want to bid on the graphics card if it comes up first because winning it and then seeing the laptop go for less than I have would be a very sweet form of torture... but in the end I'd have something.

Again? ATI's 2000 and 3000 series both got destroyed by Nvidia's offerings. They're usually the ones on top, not ATI.

Yes, seeing Micro get those for less points than I had did just hurt pretty bad. But at least I have the fall back of knoing I won the Jade Empire pack. I'm sure it'll be a lot worse if you lose the laptop and then have nothing left to bid on. How many points do you have anyways?

not so true, the 9800 series held sway for a good while, and the 4800's have been a smashing sucess.  To be honest, I am biased to ATI, but they were always better for color repro work than nVidia in the earlier days.  today they balance out depending on what feature you actually want.
