Man, my grandmother-in-law is stopping by around 5-5:30 to pick up some cards my kids made for her mom who's in the hospital for a fall (she's 94 o.0 ) so I may miss the end of this!!

*hmmm*  We're both 17".  Would the number of HDDs cause the weight/size difference?  Compared to my old Dell Latitude I had for work prior (that basically died) was a ton smaller and lighter.  The brand on mine is Sager, not sure what the model is.

For less than 1000 thats a good buy.Maybe you got it off on special discount or something.

Excessive heatsinks/heatpipes can add to the weight significantly.

HDMI isn't that special really, it's just DVI+Sound.

It's not special until you hook it up to your friend's projector and play Crysis on a 100 inch screen

Nah $999 is the normal price at Best Buy. Not a sale. I got this back in Feb and the price is still the same.

Gotcha.  The machine does run very hot; there are 4 circular fan vents on the bottom of the machine, so that could be it.
