Same here, my hdd is a 5400rpm (shudders). Its really  the only thing I don't like about this system. But if I get enough saved up for a nice SSD I'll put it in the extra bay and reinstall the OS and my games to it and use the 500 as storage.

I've got a Samsung Spinpoint, one of the fastest conventional 7200RPM drives on the market

I'm not sure I'd trust a Samsung hard drive... I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Samsung, but I just haven't heard good things about their HDDs. My WD Caviar Black works perfectly well, especially considering the price tag.

yeah I made the mistake of getting a WD Green Cavier...damn thing is always spun down to 5400 when I need it most.
