They aren't auctioning off any of the DLC are they?

The only way they can break up the current prize packs any smaller is if they extend the length of the Bazaar.

There are currently 2,189 items in 412 packs/auctions.

there should be 508 auctions not 412

Are you basing that on the 15min per auction deal and end date/time?  I got the 412 from the top of the prizes list.

I heard about a case in China a few years ago where a guy killed another guy for stealing his in-game sword.  Who knows what people are capable of?  More than I like to think about.  I only kill monsters!

well in the first day there should be 60 auctions (15 hours, 4 per hour).  Than from tuesday to friday there should be 384 (4 days, 24 hours, 4 per hour), saturday there should be 64 (16hours 4 per). add those together and we get 508
