I keep trying to convince myself that it's pointless since I'm outbid by the third or so bid at best, but I keep checking and hoping.  At some point you'd think I'd learn.  Even the stuff that was auctioned at 4 or 5 AM went for 10,000.  If there are people with that many points willing to stay up to get something, then I don't stand a chance.

How long before they send out a DM for the twitter winners? Is it instantaneous after the timer runs out or do people usually have to wait a bit? I don't want to keep checking my twitter account while filling myself with false hope.

I wasn't following BioWare on Twitter.  I mean, I really HATE Twitter, so I didn't know what to do...

It takes about an hour at least, but can be as long as till the next day if it is a later challenge. Twitter has a max # of tweets you can send a day

The rules say they dont start the judging for a few hours after the challenge ends.
