I've still got jokes for people who click on my link!
Clicked yours and a bunch of other peoples' links. Now tell me a joke!
A Student comes into class and asks his teacher, "Should someone be punished for something they didn't do?"
The Teacher responds, "No, of course not."
"Good because I didn't do my homework!"

Are these the same video cards that are in the PCs up for auction?
Don't think so, the PCs had the 5780 if I recall accurately.
I think you mean 5870. There's no such thing as a 5780.

Ugh, I just read in a thread that I'd have to pay a tax in a contest win. Blehh!
Well, it looks like you won't be paying any tax on those posters, someone finally outbid you. (BTW where'd you see about being taxed?)
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/13/index/2129666
I read it in that thread, and I'm happy now that I was outbid
Looking in that thread it looks like you'd only pay taxes on prizes $600+. I doubt those posters fall in that price range.
Oh, lol, I didn't read the whole thing, oops

Yes, I know that. But since everyone is playing the game of "throw all my tokens in at once" I'm low enough that I have to.darkmagic47 wrote...
I have like 11k, but I wouldnt want to throw it all on my first bid, you usually see how low you can get something at for auction, not how high. I wonder if these people have ever bid on an auction before.sage_viper wrote...
Go figure some guy comes in with 10k...
this really isn't an auction, it is a chips all in game, I think if they made it a bid by bid win 10-100 points at a time, things would go for way cheaper and more people would be pleased with it,
of course either way i wouldn't be, half the time I would be bidding with my phone at work so I would still never bid because of how slow it would be

Yeah, I know I am gonna have to adopt that tactic to get a bid on the board and win an auction here, but its not how I normally do things. Gotta adapt I guess.sage_viper wrote...

I believe so, the contest rules talk about it somewhere.
Is it just Sales Tax or something? I mean, what kind of tax? We don't have Sales Tax in Oregon... Nothing really that I can think of that would legally make me pay tax on an item.
Edit: I mean, I know sales tax makes like no sense... but I honestly can't think of anything in Oregon that would bind me to paying a tax for something like this.

You will have to put this on your 1040 for 2010 regardless of the amt your prize was worth.

It's sales tax on the state level but the federal gets you to. You dodge one bullet by living in Oregon but still get hit with the other if it's $600+
