To Bioware:

Suck my "chinpo".

Just cuz someone clicks on a link linking to the ME website doesn't mean they'll buy your damn game. You are insulting Canadians with this.

All you are doing is rewarding the preps who spam CLICK THIS on their MySpace and Facebook, or hackers who LOL I TROL U with IMAGE URL links.

Thank you, teme.

You really make us normal folk happy.

My suggestion to BioWare?

After the auctions are over, allow people to convert their unused tokens into BioWare points (at a decent enough ratio to make people happy) so that they can spend them on merchandise/DLC/whatever as a reward for participating.

Yes, this would end up costing BioWare a significant amount of money, but if people are able to get a ME2 mousepad (or other BioWare branded farkle) for their tokens, you'll still get some advertising for your money, and you'll have a happier community.

Now there's a nice idea.

I third this idea!!! Great one there!!!

I like free stuff!

The game has pretty much become 'try to actually get any bid in fast enough'.  I'm pretty sure the parable with the tortoise lied to me, slow and steady isn't very helpful.

I used to work in a toy store back in the TickleMe Elmo day ...

That was a level of hell I have yet to redescend to.

Similar here, save that I worked at the toy store when Pokemon cards first became the rage, and man that holiday season sucked. So few booster packs, so many angry parents...

I was so into those things. We rode all over trying to find them so I could get a Vaporeon card. I ended up trading my friend a Volpex or something to get it.

Unfortunately I also worked there while I had my own Magic:the Gathering addiction and St:CCG problem. My paychecks were spent before I even got them LOL

This is a great suggestion.  It only has one major flaw, though.  There is no way BioWare is going to see it barried under all these posts.  I suggest you make that its own septerate post out in the forum.

Excellent idea. would be nice to at least get something from this. (other than the amusement of browsing the forums, of course ;))

I don't feel nearly as upset as some of these other folks. In fact I think a lot of them are taking it waaaaaaaay too hard.

But I do still feel pretty bad about this. I didn't really expect to win much of anything, but I at least wanted to participate. I can't even place a bid because the token farmers are all super bid happy and locking up the auctions within a minute of them opening. And that is just no fun at all.

I hope bioware tries to improve upon this model for their next event. Because it actually was a lot of fun right up until the bidding started and 75% of us were no longer able to participate at all.

No, I'm complaining that their contest is poorly executed, poorly planned, and poorly thought out. Plus it's not like they are "giving away" free stuff, the cost of running this contest is probably on par if not below what they would have spent to advertise the bioware social network, while being simultaneously more effective than an ad probably would have been.

So you'd rather they didn't have the bazaar at all?  Sound like sour loser talk to me.

actually I'm pretty sure the complaints are about the ones that got $Texas worth of tokens every day and are starting bids at 10k on a regular basis

What's funnier is that all the time I wasted on getting them, a few months after the craze kind of died down the Dollar Store was selling them.
