I played KotoR and loved it (who didn't), but I tend to play fantasy games with more dedication. I am DA obsessed (of course). I've started ME, but I am not cut out for the battle interface...I'm determined to try again, though.

I think you'll enjoy ME1 once you get into it. ME2, probably not so much. ME1>ME2 when it comes to depth of plot.

I think I'll like it once I get into it, too. And even if the plot of ME2 is a bit thinner, but I'll be invested in the character by then.
