i remember when halo 3 came out they had the exact same problem wit the limited edition case were all the discs were braking because of the dvd grip was too big they had to do a recall in the end.

hi my play disc is on the way out. the case you put the disc in isnt exactly the best it has caused 3 splits starting at the middle hole. it wont be long before the actual disc is unusable. so my question is when it breaks can i just buy the standard edition and start playing or will i need to uninstall the game then reinstall with the new copy.

The contents of the DVDs are identical. Also you could use your CD key and activate it in the EA download manager. That way you can download the game every time you want to install it without buying it a second time.
