I tried to search by using the the magnifying glass at the top of the page....is that how we're supposed to search things here?

Also, I've no idea how to put comments on my profile.  Someone posted a comment on my profile and I read it but was afraid to comment on it because I had no idea where it would go or how to get rid of it if I didn't like it.

I also see people with cute little comments about how they're out to lunch or waiting on spam to cook or whatever, and I have no idea how to do that either.  Posted Image

Please help?

I think I can help with the second question! Under your avatar picture there should be the words 'Update your status'. If you click on that, you can type in what ever you wish to say and save it! That sounds like what you are seeing in other people's cute little comments.

Depends what you're looking for. I know it searches users (and not forums). Don't know if it searches anything else. To search forums, use the magnifying glass in the bar above the forums (the one with the Jump to drop-down).

Comments made on your profile (and comments you have made on others' profiles) you can delete. To reply to a particular comment, use the reply function associated with that comment (only available on your own profile). The message function is a private message. The Wall-to-Wall function, when available (it isn't, for instance, if one user has set her profile to private), will display (all) comment correspondances between the two users (the profile owner and the one who made the comment). As for who sees it, in Profile => Privacy Options you can specify who is allowed to see your profile (and also who can post comments, and lots of other things). Unfortunately you can't block just individual components (e.g. hide the activity feed or the comment block) -- it's the whole profile or nothing (although restricting commenting permission may also affect who has permission to see comments, not sure).

Thanks guys. I will try those out.

@Snoteye...you really ought to be a Mod around this forum. You know it all! Um...I meant that as a statement and a compliment...not an insult. :P
