Yeah there were a lot of token exploits. I'm sure some people earned their tokens, but most of the high token people used the exploits. The Bioware Bazaar was a mistake, should have just been a straight contest or just dropped altogether.

they probably made a program to change their IP, then go to the link. Change IP, go to link. over and over and over leaving it on all day.

everything is going for over 10,000. It sucks that people cheated thier way thru this... i did it fair and square, spent a whole bunch of time paying attention to it, and then everything is bundled together at prices higher than i could even earn... this is marketing bull**** not fan service.

Most of the world wasn't included in the auctions anyway. Don't feel too put out by not winning anything. Welcome to the club.

Mathematically the totals are awfully high for legitimate gains. Given the bot happy script kidding culture of the internet... playing the odds of foul play is a very safe speculation.

Care to explain how someone got 16,000 tokens to win the bid on that computer then?

Popular YouTube channel, winning challenges, blogs, lots of Twitter followers, posting regularly on an active website. There are plenty of ways they could have reached that amount. It's also possible that they could have cheated, but all the people assuming that everyone winning was a cheater is ridiculous.

The people who used exploits to gain a lot of tokens had their tokens removed in the most awesome way possible. One person on the Xbox.com forums was worried about losing their tokens because they did the exploit. And he got nearly half of his tokens taken away, not before the auction started, but AFTER he made a bid and was actually set to win the custom painted Mass Effect PC.

WIth 2 minutes left, his bid was removed and all of the tokens gained through the exploit were removed.

It is possible that someone sipped through the cracks, but BioWare is putting in effort to take tokens away from those who cheated. As BioWare has always illustrated in their games, with all choices there is a consequence.

I can see how plenty of people got so many token legitimately, being popular on sites like MySpace, Facebook, Youtube, etc. would net you quite a few tokens in one day.
Doesn’t make me feel any better about the ridiculousness of it all.
Basically, before the auctions even started they were already slanted towards people who were already on Twitter or largely popular on social sites.

Doesn’t matter that you’ve spent legitimate time and money buying all of Bioware’s games, books, comics etc. at full retail price, if you’re not an internet junkie, then forget it. Pretty typical internet crud, you have to be very popular to get anything.

It wouldn’t bother me so much if they sold everything on the auctions in the Bioware store too, (the Dragon age posters, inflatable sword etc.) but they don’t.

dashed my hopes bioware. I thought I was doing well and i'd be able to get something small but 6000 + is apparently nothing even though i registered all my bioware games. Might be nice if those who have points could buy some downloadables like inferno armour that could not be purchased

That's not a bad idea actually. It would be a shame for unused Tokens to just be wasted. We should get at least some small consolation prize(s) or such.

I concur. I was so excited when you guys announced this auction. I even got 10 of my friends to click the link for a couple days. Barely above 6200 points. Figured I'd have a shot at something, but guess I don't exploit enough to be a winner.

Word.

If I could plunk down some of my tokens to pick up ME2 items that I didn't get for ordering from a different retailer, or I could just drop a few dollars to buy some of the specific merchandise (on sale for the event), then I wouldn't be even remotely bitter about this whole affair. I think alot of people would enjoy that more.

It shouldn't suck this much when $60,000+ worth of BioWare-related merchandise is being given away for free, but they just keep screwing this up, first by cutting out an enormous portion of their community, and then by catering only to those who abuse the system. Us honest BioWare fans are being left in the dust while all these free goodies are being dangled in front of us.

not all of us have abused the system took me a lot to gain the tokens i did to get the posterpack but now im out of tokens. that is without winning any challenges i was able to get all the clicks by posting my link over on other gaming websites i frequent and by adding my link to the many lists on this site that have people clicking the links. with those things i was able to amass around 9.235 tokens total and im still receiving tokens even tho i dont need them right now
