I don't think I'd like a Dragon Age MMO, but I wouldn't mind a Dragon Age with an online RPG option, where say you have 4 people playing the same game with their characters (or using the ingame characters).

i agree would love to see  4 player co up

I think that DA has the potential to become a good mmo - if it stays like the game it is now, lore and plot driven instead of simple hack'n'slash with lore changing whenever it suits the market better. It would be refreshing to see something like that. But being realistic I'd be pleased with multiplayer and not so much for the original campagin but extras like new locations (I miss city quests) and dungeons.

I played wow until I started studying.

I spent way to much time playing wow as a high end raider myself.

so I figured best way to get trough college is to stop playing wow.

Now DA:O is releasing in 2 weeks (eu ps3 player) and I'm a bit afraid to 'lose' myself in the game but heck I can't wait until january.

Yeah, I was also a guild leader for over two years. Left WoW about a month ago after growing really tired of the game. At the moment I am finding Offline games much more pleasant to play. I may try another MMO in the future, but not today. WoW had 3 years out of me, and that's more than enough for one game.

I think the ammount of time WoW takes up seems to make more people leave than new game releases. Now that most of the raiding has been notched down for casuals though I will be going back to play through them. I played through the Ulduar Hard modes and gave up too much time to do it. I will enjoy it now as a casual just playing with friends and progressing through but not through the hard modes. Need to commit too much time IMO to get all I wanted out of WoW.

I quit playing WoW a few months ago, we were working on 10-man Coliseum (only 3 bosses were out at the time). Long story short, guild broke up and I had no more motivation to play without the people I'd spent 3+ years with.

WoW is an excellent game, and anyone who appreciates the tactical aspect of RPGs should enjoy MMOs - but you do have to deal with other personalities, time commitments, etc. Its not for everyone.

idk if you can say DAO is better than WoW or vice versa.  It depends on what youre looking for in a gaming experience.  It's also easy to confuse the people playing an MMO with the game itself, which isnt the case obviously.

I just purchased DA:O, but I purchased purely because it was not an MMORPG. Not that I dislike them, but like many of you, Im just burnt out with games that are altered by Market analyssis. I just want to play a game with a good story and true RPG. Outside that, I think I puch things on champions for a while with the MMorpgs.

I played WoW for a long time. Truth be told, I met my first boyfriend on WoW- we were together for 3 years, so I guess I have to thank WoW for that. Actually, there are a lot of things I liked about WoW, but I felt it was just too unrewarding in the end.

Played on and off for about 3 years, extremely casually, so never got into end-game stuff much. When I finally did start raiding, my guildmaster basically went crazy (bad case of PMS or something) and tore the guild apart. That was the end for me, I quit a couple years ago.

But I always liked single-player games with substance much more than WoW, so yeah, I agree. Congrats on finally escaping from it. ;)

I forgot about WoW before I ever played it, because I'm not paying for a sub-par RPG where instead of controlling my party members I have a bunch of drooling mouth breathers talking about how "l33t" they are.

I'm pretty sure the reason DAO is so great is that is has all of the elements that we love about mmos (besides paying with friends of course) and it cuts out all the crap that makes mmos suck (grinding, ridiculous wait times, ganking, monthly fees, etc.)

I stopped playing WoW a few years ago, and just when I felt that I might try out a new mmo, DAO came out just in time to save me.

I'll be splitting my time between DA and WoW.  I'm really enjoying DA, it's great to play a game with a party again and it's a real challenge so far, even though I'm not very far into the game.  But WoW's not going to stop being fun just 'cause I'm playing a new game. :D

Besides, I can't play DA with friends, and it doesn't have the nifty-weird non-standard fantasy races that WoW has.  I don't know if DA has the variance in environments that WoW has; I'm not far enough into the game to tell.

So, yeah...  I might be the only person on this thread saying this, but I plan to play both.  Nice to be able to get my fix for all different kinds of fantasy adventure.

Heh, well i havent played wow for a single hour since i got this game :P

But i must admit, it doesnt have the very deep that mass effect had or neverwinter nights. Not at all. But maybe that will change, i have just done my first second major mission after the origins mission.

Coincidently i quitted wow 3 weeks ago.
I dont miss it at all. Used to be an hardcore raider pre-wotlk. Also hardcore pvper pre -tbc.
With every expansion/big patches i founded wow becoming less and less challenging. Compare naxx/ulduar/cc with bwl/ssc/bt, its a joke. They really ****ed up pvp as well..rankingsystem was great and i hate the resilience-stat.
DA is way more challenging for me atm. The best thing about DA for me is that noobs cant **** it up and let u wipe, hooray!

Screw wow, i wont go back.

i stopped playing wow when Wotlk was brought out, it took up far too much of my time and since i was in a serious raiding guild that wanted to be first on the server and in top 50 worldwide for kills it did actually take over most of my life. But then i realised that i could have so much more spare time if i stopped playing and i have never looked back since.

I swear WoW is the only game where people say "I quit 3 years ago" like its a smoking habit, rather than just saying "Don't really play that game anymore."

For the record I hate all MMORPGS, find them dull.
